Temperature of 40º celcius while charging - is it normal?

I have a POCO F3 and I know that it's normal for the phones to get a bit hotter while they are charging. I noticed that my phone while charging can get a temperature of 40º celcius, then temperature comes down. When it's not charging, it's usually between 20-25º celcius. Is this normal?

By the experience on 2 Note Pro: 5 and 7, it's normal.

It depends on the charger power.

1A Fresh
2A Warm
3A Hot QC3/4

For them, the charging power decrease to 700ma if too hot.
If the device was cool before plug may stay to 30/35, if in use would even rise to 42°

QC here is the Xiaomi's default and a dual UGreen.


Using the device while charging may increase the temp as well.

Check GSam Battery app if not already.

By the way, when it's not charging the temp is usually between 22-30º celsius

It should appear on the small text printed on the charger itself.

With GSam you can easily monitorice Temp and Charge power, even max charger power.

In the output it says: 5.0v=3.0A/; 15w= 3.OA; 27W/12.0V= 2.25A; 27.0W/20.0=1.35A; 27.0W/11.0V= 3.OA; Max 33W
Input: 100-240V- 50/60Hz, 0.7A

So that charging temperature is normal, right?

How do I get a slow charger? I just don't know if it's safe to use an unofficial charger for this phone...By the way, I never leave my phone to charge overnight. I always leave it to charge in the morning when I arrive at work and usually the battery is between 15-20%.

An older charger is slow now.

1 or 2 Amperes work fine.

The info related is to:

Charge between 20-25/80%
Avoid the 0% (This when possible)
Charge till 100% when needed. (100% counts as a cycle and since currently everything is now programed with a fixed lifespan, it will decrease it)

Better charge more often than fully.

Despite current cells does not have memory effect the Voltage may decrease on lows and this affects them.


Check "Battery Alarm/Thief" app, it will alert you at a choosen percentage to plug /unplug.

Those others are fixed and limited in V/A in comparison.
Just that.
The only thing is to choose a charger good enough to not be burned after 2 charges.


Here, both phone charge in QC3, 1A, 2A or 2.4A during the week, depending on the place/moment since 2 and 3 years now.

The bats works fine on both.

Ok, found it. But i've read online that if you dial *#*#6485#*#* you can check what % of the battery life span you've already used. However, when I use that code it displays an error
