Update Miui 7 To 8

Hi everyone,
I bought recently a mi 5 and i am a bit lost, i've read différent things about roms xiaomi.eu.

I have a global ROM

Can i update it OTA with the updater app to V8.0.2.0 MAAMIDG or do i have to use something like miflash.
And how to know if my bootloader is unlock?

Your current ROM is official, updater app should work.
