updating from stable ROM to MIUI 6 dev

Hey guys,

I literally just received my mipad minutes ago via DHL, and want to get this up to MIUI v6. What is the easiest way to do this? I want to get onto the xiaomi.eu ROM release ASAP!

Is it true that I need to install a developer MIUI v5 ROM first, before I can go to MIUI v6? I saw something about this on this page.

I took the plunge, and it was quite painless!

1) download 4.8.22, the last MIUI v5 dev ROM for mipad
2) place it in root of SD card, and rename it to update.zip
3) reboot mipad, and hold down volume + to get into recovery mode
4) update and reboot!
5) download latest MIUI 6 dev ROM, and do steps 2-4 again
6) enjoy MIUI 6 on mipad

Is there an option in settings to enable card writes for all apps? I really hate Kitkat due to this. I read somewhere there is a setting to enable card writes.

With root there are a couple of apps for that in Playstore.

what is this v5 and v6? My version now is KXFCNBF2.0.
And where can I download v6 dev ROM?
I can see only version 4.10.24 but no link yet. Or is it 4.10.17?
And if I do the update like the post above, will all my data gone?

Please help me....

who is this guy? we cant spoon feed you. look at weekly rom releases forum to find links to all the roms you need. and yes, its rooted.

need to work my butt off to buy this gadget.
