Updating to GB 2.3 stock email app

Is there any chance this can be done before the big MIUI switchover to GB 2.3?

The Android email app in 2.2 has issues which was resolved in 2.3 so am looking forward to my fantastic MIUI builds email apps working beautifully :)

What issues did the 2.3 app fix? Can you just download a different GB ROM and pull the Email.apk out, then replace the stock MIUI one?
