Most of those who buy xiaomi from outside China consider that they can modify, load a different OS than the Chinese one or activate various features from phone routing.
If the bootloader unlock facility disappears, these buyers will also disappear, which are not few. I will be one too.
Anyway, I think that the facility to unlock the bootloader depends on the fact that we are the owners of the phone for which we pay a lot of money, so if we want the unlocked bootloader with all the so-called security consequences, we have the right to this.
I think that XIAOMI's new policy related to unlocking the bootloader is wrong.
 
I agree with you. My guess is it's because of money. China models are a whole lot cheaper than the EU models, plus those EU models are usually released months later. So I think that's an attempt to prevent China import. Much like OnePlus with their region lock on the China models, and Nothing with "need an India SIM card to get access to the much cheaper India model".
