Hi all, just letting anyone interested know that today I flashed xiaomi.eu 8.1.1.0 Stable, I upgraded from 8.0.12.0 seamlessly. I have used it for about 10 hours now, working great so far.

Other changes I've been able to spot:

- Fixed a bug with the notification for Google Play Music; in 8.0.12.0, it would show with white letters over a white background (really...), now it has black letters and is readable.
- The icons in the settings menu are more colorful.
- Performance, as far as I can tell, is roughly the same as in 8.0.12.0.
- Battery usage seems similar to 8.0.12.0.

There is a bug that's still there from 8.0.10.0, I think, on the Data usage screen in settings. The data threshold text gets rendered incorrectly, with HTML code (see attached screenshot). I will report that on en.miui.com.

It's worth noting that this seems to be the first release of MIUI 8.1 for any device, and that it's still in BETA status.

On 8.0.10.0 and 8.0.12.0, I had the problem with slow downloads (around 300-400 KB/sec). Just tried on a fast WiFi network and got near 10 MB/sec. Way to go! It seems like another problem solved.

Right now, I have 3h 26m of SOT, and 34% of battery still remaining, which seems to be equal or a bit better than my battery performance on 8.0.12.0. very happy with this update so far.

confirmed on the SoT, I have around 5h30 mins to 6 hours. better than the weekly room. the only issue that I have is the KLO bug report keep crashing after reboot.

Do i need to wipe anything when upgrade from 8.0.12.0?
Or just flash it and no wipe?

I confirm, EU version wipe cache and dalvik automatically. But also delete other installs via TWRP (SuperSU, Xposed, etc.) and they should be re-installed after every update.

Just flash it from updater. I read that eu version wipe cache and dalvik automatically.

That's correct, just flash the .zip from the updater app, it works perfectly.

I also lost the long press for Google Now (it doesn't affect me that much, as I use Nova Launcher and have a gesture set up to launch Google Now).

Overall, save for little things like this, 8.1.1.0 is the smoothest ROM I have tried on my Mi 5.

Can anyone confirm the bug I shared before on the Data Usage screen? Is it something specific to .EU, or is there on official China Stable MIUI?

Seems your theme issue.. set default theme...

@ingbrzy - It seems it's related to the spanish translation. If I change language to English (US), the bug is gone.

@Daniel V. , Sure. In English, it would be Settings > Data usage (in "Network" section). Perhaps it's necessary to set a data usage alert for that screen to appear, not sure.

I also never saw that screen in MIUI ROM... have you installed any mod..? that is from AOSP.. not MIUI...

No mods at all! Bought my Mi 5, unlocked bootloader right away and installed xiaomi.eu Stable downloaded from here, clean install!

Here are the steps to get to that screen. Perhaps you have to set a mobile data limit for that option to appear?

I don't have the same items in Setting (see 1st screenshot). To set mobile data limit I acces Settings > NETWORK section > SIM cards & mobile networks > Set data plan and I have de 2nd screenshot.

I also never saw that screen in MIUI ROM!

I have a supersecret screen!! :eek::D

Seriously guys, I have a clean install of xiaomi.eu stable, nothing else (I'm not even rooted!)... Anyways, it's not a big issue...

Other stuff that could be related to this screen appearing is that I have developer settings enabled, and in there, MIUI optimizations disabled...

Yea that's it. I've also disabled MiUi optimizations and got the same thing as you did.
I don't think it does anything other than changing the data tab, i've been using for a week now and there is no difference.

I think it's because you've turned off miui optimization from the developer settings
Yes, effectively, I have MIUI optimizations disabled! Thing is, if I set English as my language, the screen shows correctly. It seems it's something specific to the spanish translation.

Check Auto Start... In Security App... assure its enabled and other apps with push notifications as well .....
I did..also allow all restriction on battery saver as well. But, it seems on and off. Sometimes, it got pushed immediately or need to do it manually. I'm not so sure. I will wait for couple more days as it happened in weekly ROM before and it went normal again after few days.

By the way, after using it for almost two days now, this seems the best MIUI experience that i have (aside from minor issues like bug reporting crashes several times with no reason and gmail). the battery life is amazing compared to global ROM and weekly EU room. from 100 to 80% seems quick. but, after that, it went smoothly. I got roughly 6 hours SOT from 100% to 5%. Recommended.

I also have a problem with Gmail notifications. I'm with 6.10.13.
80% of the time I receive them without problems. 15% only if i turn on the screen. 5% only if i do a manually sync.
