I am a Redmi Note8 Pro user from China. I want a pure Android system, so I come to here. But I did not expect MTK phone has a disadvantage like this. I really hope this problem can be solved, and you guys may support this device then. Thanks
Thank you for your reply, I will try your suggestions. Appreciate man.Hi,
You can find several custom ROM developped by indians
- Pixel experience
- POSP
- Evolution X
- CesiumOS
Due to the lack of NFC on their model, these ROM dont support it
They develope a bootloader to allow repairing without Xiaomi's special account.
I heard of Lineage OS 17.1 for Redmi Note 8 Pro
Developement is possible on Redmi Note 8 Pro
Seems some people want...and other don't!
Sad to see Xiaomi.eu promote monopoly...especialy from a company condamned for the destruction of employement in Europe (ICERA)

The 4 roms are on xda-developers...
First, read very carefully "Redmi Note 8 Pro - The Megathread" by agent_fabulous
It's important to avoid brick.
If you know someone who already uses SP Flashtool it would be nice...
All is at your own risk...
If I used SP flashtool several time on other devices, I don't on this Redmi Note 8 Pro
I confirm this.Hi,

I couldn't disagree less, however, unfortunately, nobody is listening... or they just don't care.It would be great if support for the Redmi Note 8 Pro returned with the arrival of MIUI 12. The development by the community has evolved quite a bit, in addition, we already have Android 10 officially and stable on the global rom, there are already a number of custom recovery specifically for MIUI-based rom's, The great one recommended by the community is the LRTEAM TWRP, it has its version for Android 9 and for Android 10. I think the only thing necessary is to leave a post with instructions and a warning that any change is the decision of each user.
They don't care . So sad..It has been some time since the RN8PRO is not mentioned, considering that a recovery is already working perfectly (I used it to install Miui 12 China), does anyone know if support will be resumed or can I leave the forum for good?
Hi, but where do i find a rom for begonia. Looked all over xiaomi.eu and not one rom for begonia. Miui 11, not 12.Hi guys, 4pda users have managed to install your latest Android 10 firmware for begonia using new twrp from LR team . The only thing is that the specific sequence of steps should be followed . Please reconsider Begonia support
The steps to install:
1. Do all the wipes including Format Data ( Yes confirmation), except MicroSD,USB and reboot to TWRP
2) flash Xiaomi.eu via TWRP and boot to system
3) flash LRTeam TWRP in Fastboot mode for getting Android 10 support

But if the Devs here are not willing to listen, then what is the point?Look, a post was created on xda talking about ending brick on note 8 pro. I think with that, we can get support back.

Can we speak to any on the developers here? Is there anyone willing to create roms for our begonia. I've been on the initial release of Xiaomi.eu for more then six months and eventually I had to pass to MiuiPro to be able to get miui 12 but it's just not the same. I miss the clean look and feel of the x.eu roms. Come on guys.... There are a lot of us out here in need of your help. Let people decide what to do with their phones. I have yet to see a person complaining about x.eu roms bricking their phones. If one soft/hard bricks their devices they know it's because they did something wrong. But if the Devs here are not willing to listen, then what is the point?
Pretty sure devs must ignore. This isn't their, devs, problem, that MTK are not cooperating and pretty "closed" platform. Also if no cina rom for platform, almost zero chance for eu rom. Only official global or EEA.As XIAOMI is pushing more and more MTK devices even on our territory, I think the dev's can't igore this faqt.
By his paid service... No spam allowed here..@moderators I find it interesting to see you deleted the reply of gvyftyf4884, which pointed you on the matter how to debrick the MTK devices ...
We have dropped support for HMnote8Pro MTK [begonia] due to a lot of bricks caused by installing TWRP or Magisk or any other mods.. MTK does not allow to boot to Fastboot if something "goes wrong" and users are forced to flash images via SPFlash Tool EDL mode which is locked by Xiaomi for few authorized accounts only.. so for safety of users, we will not release any ROMs for this device..
PS: We do not recommend buying MTK devices if you want to use our ROMs..
Hey guys. I'm a note 8pro user. So now this is goes literally one year. I rooted my phone with Magisk and I also changed the recovery menu ( to TWRP). So can we get EU ROM for note 8pro user's.We have dropped support for HMnote8Pro MTK [begonia] due to a lot of bricks caused by installing TWRP or Magisk or any other mods.. MTK does not allow to boot to Fastboot if something "goes wrong" and users are forced to flash images via SPFlash Tool EDL mode which is locked by Xiaomi for few authorized accounts only.. so for safety of users, we will not release any ROMs for this device..

You already quoted why your request won't be realized....
We just need EU ROM. Because other custom rom can't compare to this legend.

The Hardware(in this case the MTK chip) is the problem. It means that if there were a SD chip in Redmi Note 8 Pro, it would be a xiaomi.eu rom available for it.
I guess that as long as MTK doesn't solve this problem for costum roms like the one we can use here, xiaomi.eu wont release any new Roms for RN 8 Pro to protect you from bricking your divice(like they already said)
I hope you will have enough money to buy a real smartphone powered by Qcom..i hope xiaomi will use MTK for all of their devices and xiaomi.eu will be closed )
Oh Redmi Note 8 Pro is a "real" device!I hope you will have enough money to buy a real smartphone powered by Qcom..
