Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro Gps

Hi

I bought the xiaomi redmi 3 pro phone from spemall.com store and received it yesterday. Everything seems to be working fine til I hit one problem. Since recently the game "pokemon go" has become super popular I also tried to play it. On my last phone prestigio 5508 duo it worked like it should since redmi pro 3 and prestigio both have the gps support needed. However on my xiaomi the gps signal is not working for the game and it wasnt working for the google maps aswell but after long and hard searching and trying different methods the google maps finally started working.

Now my problem is playing the game, the apk can be downloaded from following link :

When i start the game it says gps signal not found while google maps and other gps things work.

After you have downloaded and installed it, can xiaomi redmi 3 pro users try and get this to work. I will post my phone details below aswell

You might have tampered rom, install official and test again. (Google MiFlash edl mode)

Solution :
1. If you using steelcase or another case replace its first.
2. check this link. this contain gps.conf for your device but need root access..

step :
- download root explorer
- go to etc/gps.conf. backup first and replace with new one.

3. try another app like gps locker and androiTS
if in androiTS dont have any signal, maybe trouble on gps.conf, chipset or gps aData

I got the phone rooted but now it wont connect to computer anymore to exchange the config files. Any ideas?

EDIT : got the connection working but I cant seem to find the gps config file

nevermiss can you also post the miui version and screenshot of your phones details please? Maybe I also need to install other ROM

Gps file in the root folder.
Just try this command in terminal emulator.

cd etc
cat gps.conf

also what mode has the phone to be in while doing things in terminal emulator

Maybe you can write step by step instructions and I will be able to get that new rom or find that gps.config file. Would be great

Gps.conf in etc/gps.conf.

Try see this file with rootbrowser. This app available in app store.

If you cant found in etc/gps.conf, the trouble is in your Rom.

Note : replace the star thing with dot

Step :
1. Downloads root Explorer, and Grant root access for that app.
2. open folder etc.
3. mount as R/W and hold gps.conf.
4. Popup come out and choose text editor.
5. Copy all new gps.conf and replace all text with the new one.
6. Restart.
7. Open androiTS app and you Will see satelit used or not.
8. Click a-gps extra data. Choose yes.
9. Restart again.

Note : this etc/gps.conf is in root folder. Remember ROOT FOLDER. Not in sdcard0.
