Xiaomi Smart Space Heater S constant clicking after reaching set temperature — thermostat issue?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using a Xiaomi / Mi Smart Space Heater S for about a month. At first it worked normally and heated my room well.

Previously, when I set a target temperature, the room would rise about 1.5°C above the set temperature, then cycle normally between the set temp and around +1.5°C.

Recently the behavior changed. Now it reaches the set temperature and starts making a repeated clicking / popping sound. When this happens, it seems like the heating element stops heating, even though the app still shows the heater as On. After a short while, it clicks again and resumes heating.

The heater itself feels hot to the touch, but the room feels cooler than before, like it’s not working at full capacity. The temperature now seems to cycle around only ±0.1°C, which makes it click very often.

If I raise the target temperature, it heats again normally until it reaches the new target, then the constant clicking/cycling starts again.

This started after I unplugged and moved it briefly to clean underneath, so I’m wondering if it could be a thermostat/control glitch, sensor issue, relay problem, or some kind of protection mode.

I already tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, but I’m looking for advice before contacting warranty/service.

Has anyone had this issue with the Smart Space Heater S? Is there any way to fully reset the heater itself, not just reset the Wi-Fi?
