Hi,
My friend bought me a Xiaomi HongMi Red Rice from China.
Unfortunately, it's a TD-SCDMA model one that doesn't support my 3G-WCDMA' SIM system.
Is it possible to make this phone to work on WCDMA system by replacing with a ROM of WCDMA model one? Any advice?

Thank you,

no and never do it...
Thanks for your reply.
That meant this phone is restricted by its hardware, not by software?
It's quite difficult to return the phone and ask for replacement with the shop in China.

WCDMA or TD models are two different phones. Well specs are the same but modem is different. Thats why Xiaomi releases 2 roms. You can't do anything with TD model to see 3G other than buy WCDMA.

NO YOU CAN NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!

If you do it, you will lose your IMEIs numbers. this TD are especial for China Mobile.

I done. And I screwed up!!!!!!

then.... forget it.

Other, advice, the ROMS have to call:
JHACNA for TD-SCDMA and JHBCNA for WCDMA.

Thank you for your advice.
Now I have both model in hand; I'm going to try replace its modem.img file, but seems it's not a good idea now.

Thanks once again,

why are you trying to do this?
There are dedicated ROM versions for TD and for WCDMA, exchanging single files without really knowing will not lead to success but to potentially screwed up phones.
Because the phone with TD-ROM doesn't support my local 3G service (WCDMA); the phone is useless.

You won't have success in this case.
