How to install I don't think that I say more The post has said. This is so. Ha ha have a good time. All thank you for the great author.

Testing since one day. It is a little bit too early but I can say it is super fast and notifications are not delayed too much in wifi (within 1 minute)

I tried this rom, but it did not start. My configuration:
Copied the Rom aosp-aries-6.1.20-9YAoidKGMO-6.0.zip to sd.
Started (TWRP) recovery.
Wiped Data, Cache and System.
Flashed rom (messages showing flashing and succesfull, but as last output it said: "Not possible to mount System.")
Reboot.

Now after a few seconds the Mi-logo appears and nothing else happens. Had to pull battery to start recovery again.
Tried to flash a second time: same result.
Went back to (backup of) Last Hope RC3.

What did I do wrong?

Well I've got this problem when I try flash another cm12.1 from miui.com, and someone says its failed because use TWRP to wipe system, when you finish wipe system, the system will mounted and cannot unmount. Maybe it have some bugs.
By the way if you try this rom, try to use ivan's cwm recovery, and you can change another recovery when you finish flash.

You can get it from this Link, password: 04mi, it from this Thread. But it's chinese version. @.bastian(maybe you have english version?)

The link is from ROM 5.12.8. Installing this ROM update the recovery to cmw?

by the way, in the first page of this thread you have the link in a mirror for fast download.

Thanks

Tested it for a couple of hours. It's stable and butter smooth. I've never seen my Mi2S so smooth.

Also Android M includes some useful stuff that was CM-only before and I love it.

But the camera crashes (why is it called "Qualcomm camera" anyway?). And the phone becomes very laggy if downclocked. I ran my phone @.9GHz max for years without any slowdown. Until now.

This ROM is almost ready. But not enough for me.
(I've just restored my MK51.1 backup)

just flashed it to try, and these are the steps with let me the installation succeeded.

prerequisites:
- TWRP compatible with merged system partitions [link]
- a fastboot package of latest development MIUI ROM for aries [link]
- MiFlash installed and fully working

installation steps:
- backup all your stuff the way you want [cloud copy/paste, mobile to pc transfer, etc.]
- reboot your phone in fastboot mode and connect it to your pc
- start MiFlash and check if the phone is found
- browse for the fastboot images within your pc [you have to download and extract the .tar file linked above]
- in advanced properties, select "flash_all.bat" into your fastboot folders
- click flash and wait for the phone to reboot [it will take almost 10 minute for the first startup]
- once booted, skip all the MIUI configuration steps and power off your phone
- restart in fastboot mode [vol down + power]
- link the phone to your pc, and via adb push TWRP into it [fastboot flash recovery TWRP.. etc.]
- disconnect your phone from pc and remove battery
- reinsert your battery and start the phone in recovery mode [vol up + power]
- once TWRP started, allow modification to the file system swiping right
- connect your phone to your pc and move latest AOSP build into the internal memory
- wipe data - factory reset
- then flash AOSP via TWRP the standard way
- wait for about other 10 minutes for the ROM to start, then enjoy.

Well, I finally succeeded to install this.
The steps above did it (more or less):
  • Flash_all the first time did give a failure, something like "image too large", when writing the system img.
  • Tou have to select 'flash all' at the bottom of MiFlash before pressing the 'Flash' button
  • Repeatedly trying did not work.
  • Finally removed the battery and started in fastboot again.
  • Now the flash_all did work!
It looks like many other people ran into this 'too large' problem.
Maybe after the first try the partitions were resided but fastboot did not 'pickup' these changes...

Anyhow, I'm on AOSP now. Thanks for your help!

When you plug in it didn't show up some dialog like let you choose usb connect mode? Maybe you can find the option in developer options. :)
