Redmi 3s With Lte B20 800mhz

Well I just did something bad with QuickTest and now my phone turn off everytime it boots. Hope to solve it with a fresh install.

I'm very sorry, I'm a noob and it's still not very clear to me if it's a good idea to buy a so called 'Official International Version' as linked in the original post. I require B20 for 4G to work in my country. Is this really an official ROM or is this some kind of unsafe reseller ROM? Is it safe to update this so called 'Official International Version' without losing the B20 support? I don't really want to unlock bootloader. I'm extremely confused right now :D.

It's only vendor's marketing. It's actually just a version on sale at Mi Hong Kong website, for some reason they decided to unlock B20 for hong kong. I own one, bought on ali express and it works.

Thanks. And page 'band locking - LTE' please. Another way to unlock bands is flashing nvram dump of 2016031 to 2016030 but not confirmed yet.

Band locking shows all bands enabled, I didn't proceed because last time I got into power cycle.

Hi there! Which reseller store did you use to get the R3s HK version?

Thanks a lot!

Is it possible to clone an International Version ROM and Configurations to make others Redmi 3S also "International"?

No. The Phones use the same Roms. There are no special Roms for the "international version"

Hi. You can order it from geekbuying. Look for the "international version".
Available variants are color Grey with 32 GB of Ram and color Gold with 16 or 32 GB of RAM.
They have different warehouses also, so you can pick, if you want to ship it from China or from Spain.
I ordered from China via airmail and received it 16 days after my order. Its a great phone.

Thank you, however I would like to know if there is any Aliexpress Store that offer the B20 phone, as it's generally cheaper and currently have some coupons to get it even cheaper.

If not then Geekbuying seems like a pretty solid option too!

Best regards!

I also bought the international verion in goldway (alieexpress shop, previous link)

very good price and good service (phone took 21 days to arrive, including 7 of holidays between china and spain)

it came with a global dev rom which automativcally upgraded through ota to 6.10.13

I was (theoretically) able to unlock Band 20 with QualcommTool.exe according to the Info on xda-developers.

First put phone in Diag mode: In the shell input as Admin:
adb devices
adb shell
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb

then

-> run QualcommTool.exe as Admin

-> with right mouseclick first activate an then connect the diag-com port

Thank you for this guide! When I enter the Qualcomm Diag Tool, how can I identify the correct COM Port? And is there any way to check if the adb inputs were successful? Do I have to boot the phone into fastboot or just connect it (with USB debugging active of course) like it is to the PC? My phone is unlocked and rooted as well.

Hi guys! I am interested in this international Redmi 3S, because in my country B20 is the most used for LTE.
I wanted to ask you a few things to better understand what this phone really is:
- have you tried flashing on the phone the global developer (or stable, should be the same) downloaded from en.miui.com or any other ROM for standard 3S on this variant and tested LTE after the flash?
- how do you test the presence of B20? do you just look at the "4G" icon or check the actual frequency with some app?

My worst fear about this phone is that B20 is working because of a software trick that will be lost with some future update or with ROM change.

Thank you very much!

mine came with a global developer rom already installed, older version 6.8.18, which automatically gave me ota update to 6.10.13. 4g was working from the start, after the update and after flashing the eu rom. Im unsure which band it was using though.

dont know about the second question.

I had a ZUK Z1 before and only was able to use LTE in cities here in Germany. Now I even have LTE coverage in the countryside where only B20 is available.

Currently I'm on xiaomi.eu stable 7.5.1.0, before that on 8.0.6.0. LTE works in both.

I had both variants of the Redmi 3s. Band 20 is realy working on the international version. You can tell by simly doing a manual network search. In the result list I had only t-mobile 4g at first (using 1800 MHz at my town).
Now, with the 2016031 model, I can see also 4g for o2 and Vodafone (they use 800 MHz). So 4G works at home and at work for me.
I currently use the Dev Rom from multirom.me.
I used to have the official global Roms (stable / Dev) in the beginning. LTE was working fine with all tested Roms.

Thank you very much guys! Being that LTE is working even with ROMs not specifically developed for this variant means that the B20 support is not software but hardware... this is awesome!

Well, that's really bad news for some of us :/

Modemfiles arent upgraded by p.e. the EU rom and most Roms don't change the baseband. Besides the manufacturing of multiple hardware variants isn't something companies do for kicks

Can someone with international version post his baseband version and may be a backup of this ?
I have the normal Redmi 3S with 2GB Ram / 16 GB. My version is ENNS_PACK-1.65 11.1.65529.3-V026
and B20 is not working and i cannot unlock it via Qualcom Tool. The changed settings where not saved correctly.
