Hi !

I'm experiencing a REALLY annoying problem on my mi5s with thé xiaomi eu Rom : it seems like time randomly updates when thé phone is not waken up. Almost each time I wake my phone, I see the time instantly updating 3-4 or sometimes more than 20 minutes.

The real problem is for alarms : it result un the alarm not ringing since it is based on the clock and the time does not updates... I arrived late to work this morning once again :(

Anyone has reported this issue ? Any solution ???

I disabled the miui "background restricting system" in the battery paramètres. I also saw on Google that lots of people are experiencing this problem with lots of different miui builds.

Probably you have a "shop modified rom". And sometimes, the alarm issue is one of the bugs. I had the same problem with my mi5 and I fixed flashing to an official rom.

I have the same issue with a redmi 4. The problem reside in the phone going into deepsleep and the clock stops. Possible solution is to schedule the phone to turn on, let's say, 30 minutes before the alarm setting time.

I never had this before, not with the last stable version and also not with the last two weeklys for Mi5S. I think it depends to some personal settings.

Same issue it's not updated by network time. Which is a HUGE cripple for me traveling every week.

Turned off background app battery optimization. I'm on 6.12.29 weekly eu

Do you use Greenify or any other ****** app which breaks system time?

Nope just weekly ROM and mystandard apps nothing to do with time. Having correct time is crucial to me or a LOT of people miss their flight

I have no issues with time and never had.. So try find what's wrong with your apps..

Do you switch time zones a lot? Just curious. It's accurate but wrong time zones. For instance yesterday I was in Brasil today in Argentina but still showing Brasil time on the network. Switching network time on and off and apower cycle didn't change anything.

I noticed the stock clock alarm didn't work in the stable ROM.

When the phone was asleep the alarm never went off.

This was one of the first things I set up on the phone after installing the ROM as the alarm is very important to me (I'm a deep sleeper!).

I installed Google's clock and that alarm worked fine.

I've since disabled all power saving options in Miui as my SMS app (Textra) did not receive messages f my phone was asleep, so I never received any SMS! However I do not trust the stock alarm so haven't tested since.

Not here, I haven't installed Greenify or Amplify as I don't feel they are required on this phone.

Performing a few tests at the moment - will report back here.

Did you find something interesting ?
I have the same issue with 7.1.12 (and had the same with 7.1.5, had to rollback to 6.12.29 to have the alarm working).
Had no issue with 6.12.29, and I have the exact same configuration and apps installed on 7.1.12 right now !

Thxs

I am also changing time zone quite often and what I have noticed that to get the autoupdate time you will have to turn on the roaming (data) for a short while and it should sort the things out. But that is clearly not a very convenient way since doing that will end up you being charged for data abroad.

Thanks. A few resets and it sorted itself out. I have global data so it helps and I agree. It sets way faster with data enabled which is interesting. Thanks.

I installed Google's clock and that alarm worked fine.

I'm on a different build but had the opposite problem. I bought a Mi5s Plus at the Xiaomi store in HK, and I'm running the 8.0.4.0 | Stable ROM (it had an OTA update a couple of weeks ago). The alarm with the Google clock doesn't sound at all, but the stock alarm works fine for me. Weird.

I'm still having the same problem, even with every power saving option switched off and 'Memory Optimization' disabled in developer options.
Still the alarm only rings after I manually turn the screen on.
I now have "Miui Optimization" turned off in developer options, will see if that makes any difference.

I had the problem also few months back, I did several thing that end up solving the problem.
So I have disable all power saving option, added the clock app to no restrictions for battery saver.
And I also locked the clock app in memory (pulled down and lock), this has solve my problem, hope it will solve yours

If you're rooted, you can make the clock a system app.

MAKE SURE AUTOSTART IS ENABLED FOR THE CLOCK

Solves everything.

Ok but it was working perfectly on 6.12.29, and an alarm (and clock) is something that should be always active, no matter the autostart, power saving, etc.

Kinda weird !
