Hi all,

I'm selling my Redmi 3S, and I'd like to hand it over to the new owner with the best possible ROM from Xiaomi.eu, the one that's most stable and functional. I currently have .eu 8.2.3.0 Stable installed, and generally speaking, it performs well.... But it's not perfect. Notifications don't come through all times for all apps, sometimes it loses cellular connectivity, and occasionally I have some force closes of some apps while using them (WhatsApp, for example). A reboot usually solved all those issues... temporarily.

I was thinking to flash and try the latest dev version as soon as it comes out (7.6.15 should be coming out shortly), but I'd like to have recommendations from forum members. The new owner is not a very technically knowledgeable person, so I'm looking for the ROM that works best in all aspects without need to tinker a lot with it.

Thanks in advance for any response to this thread; best regards,

Have been using 8.0.10.0 since it's been released. Have tried some newer ROMs (8.1.2.0 & 8.1.4.0) but always reverted because 8.0.10.0 felt smoother and more reliable.

Thanks for your recommendations!

@MarkyO , I'll check SlimROM6, hadn't looked at it before... I like AOSP style ROMS a lot (in fact, I'm running LineageOS on my Mi 5 right now). Don't get me wrong, the work done by the .eu devs is great... but I prefer stock Android over MIUI :)

@MarkyO
Thanks for the clarification. Maybe I'd give it a whirl if this latest (official) global beta build start to act up on me.

Are you sure that's a Redmi 3S? AFAIK, the Redmi 3S doesn't have any ROM with version numbers 8.0.10.0 or 8.1.2.0.

I've been using xiaomi.eu. weekly ROMs and they are pretty stable. Even the official ROMs are pretty stable. In fact, I am puzzled by all the bugs other users find in the official ROMs. I can't reproduce any of these bugs on my own device. Makes me wonder how many bugs are really due to operator error.

Same here. I switched to Miuipro just for the fun, but the Xiaomi.eu weekly's are very good.

I also wouldn't install a custom rom if I would give my phone to someone else. There are still driver issues in all custom roms!

Just stick to one of the miui roms.

Thank you all for your responses. Finally, I'm not selling the phone, but my sister has borrowed it for some time to test it, and I ended up flashing this LineageOS build on it before handing it over. So far... It's working great! Let's see how it behaves after a couple days.

Yes, xiaomi.eu_multi_HM3SHM3X_V8.0.10.0.MALCNDG_v8-6.0 (released 20/10/2016) & xiaomi.eu_multi_HM3SHM3X_V8.1.2.0.MALCNDI_v8-6.0 (released 22/11/2016)

There aren't many worthy ROMs out there as far as Redmi 3S is concerned, however I have tested quite a few ROMs and can confirm that MIUI 8 Stable 8.0.10.0 is indeed one of the best ROMs available. But there are two other versions that I highly recommend. You can rely on the MIUI 8.1 Stable 8.1.1.0 ROM, and/or the MIUI 8.2 Weekly (Beta) 6.11.10 ROM (which I am currently using). You won't find anything better than these three choices right here. They don't have any major bugs that I can think of and they are 100% reliable as a daily driver.

I bid you good day! :D

I tried the 8.5.3.0 stable update for one week ( rooted , debloated ) , but the phone heats up more than usual and the battery life is decreased a little bit ( for me ) and i saw some hiccups ,lag 's and reboots , for exp. freezed lockscrean and then my phone rebooted while i listened to YouTube in the background .Sooo i went back again ( twice ) back to 8.1.5.0 .eu stable rom , the last best for me !
