Do you like this MIUI version?

I'm not arguing the fact they changed the default theme but the fact that the classic "old" theme icons are fu**ed up. Read here: https://xiaomi.eu/community/index.php?posts/435226

This is indeed kind of annoying. Even if you select the classic theme, not all third party apps will be themed - WhatsApp for instance shows its original icon which is ugly and does not go well with the other icons. It used to be themed... Other apps will be themed but the icons are different from before. Instagram's icon is now round and has a heart instead of a camera, lol.

I'd just like the real deal. If I choose "classic theme", I'd like to have the old icons as they were.

I already got used to the new lockscreen clock, introduced a few versions ago. Even though I still think it's uglier than the previous clock. But these icons are harder to digest.

Does anybody else have an issue with the phone refusing to connect to certain (very few) wi-fi networks?

For instance, I have a network at home created by a powerline wi-fi extender and my Mi 6 refuses to connect to it. When I select the network, I can input the password but then it won't connect, all wi-fi networks temporarily disappear and then it just reconnects to another one.

The only other wi-fi network with this problem is at my workplace.

It started to happen, if I'm not mistaken, when the builds for the Mi 6 started being Oreo based.

I don't know anything particular about these networks that this ROM doesn't like... It can connect to other 2.4/5GHz and WPA/WPA2 networks just fine. Other devices don't have this problem. Only my Mi 6.

So, you gonna say that's normal? Yes, I can agree EU ROMs are very good but ROMs which are worser don't have Network Triangulation problem ON SAME CHINA BASE. How is this possible?
Are you using English or a translation? I have checked on Mi Mix 2, the network location is working fine in Spain.
It may be your Operator's network that is causing the problem - the UE requires the Operator to provide the base-station positions in the SIB's, then the UE computes the network-based position from the Timing Advance (GSM & LTE) or PRACH Delay (UMTS) for the base-station it can "see".

You mention that it works OK on GSM, which has the worst resolution for Timing Advance (550 metres), compared to UMTS & LTE, at 234 metres.

My guess is your Operator has modified the SIB data and disabled the cell location broadcasting feature for UMTS & LTE.

If you have another Operator's SIM, give that a try.

Somehow on other ROMs network location works fine like a GPS. I don't think operator did thing that you've said because earlier it was working allright, but now it isn't

Hi, earphone volume too low.

I am having an issue with the contact list. The alphabet on the right is only english although my language settings is in greek language. Until a couple weeks I could see and use the greek alphabet (in accordance with my language settings). I am on redmi note 4x (mido). This is something I was using a lot. Does anyone else has the same problem? Or is there a way to fix it?

Mi8 - many "miui" icons are missing, esp. for installed apps like whatsapp, google, instagram etc.
