Oh my, why so complicated?
I made dirty flash, as usual, in recovery, cash wiped after flash, NP at all.

Отправлено с моего Redmi Note 7 Pro через Tapatalk

I tried a straightforward dirty flash using P-TWRP first, which seemed to work fine. However, when I next went into P-TWRP, it DID NOT prompt for a PIN and all of the /data paths remained encrypted. I do not believe that P-TWRP is compatible with Android 10, hence the "upgrade" to LR-TWRP.

Also, I stripped LR-TWRP out of the ROM prior to installing it because another user had stated that it resulted in a boot loop if left in AND it was upgraded from P-TWRP. I was not prepared to take that gamble, so I removed it.

Although my method might be slightly convoluted, it DOES work.

Incidently, at some point after the upgrade, LR-TWRP does eventually start prompting for a decryption key. Probably the fifth or sixth time of entry... I have NO idea why its behaviour suddenly changed.

Redmi note 7 (lavender) safe update procedure for all android 10 based dev roms:

-before update: have recovery.img file extracted from orange fox zip file placed on internal sdcard
-placed latest canary build zip file of Magisk on sdcard

-boot to recovery
-flash update rom, dont reboot
-flash recovery.img to recovery partition, dont reboot
-flash latest canary magisk zip
-reboot

Never had single problem with encryption or root

It seems that the new version is very aggressively closing background apps.
Even Spotify, which is streaming to google home, is being closed.
Only 3gb of ram seems to be used.
I'm on MI8

Thanks for your effort, devs.
One small bug I noticed on Mi 9 SE is slow loading of status bar when the screen turns on. There's a small delay before the time, battery, and other icons appear at the top. Nothing significant, just wanted to share.

Go into app info and on battery saver set it to no restrictions,,,you could lock it in memory too, hold it in recents and press lock icon

Please do enter your phone security PINs. That's how you decrypt your phone from encryption.
Did you even read my post?? I wrote that i am unable to enter my pin cuz i did not get the pin window... Anyway it was a bug of an older twrp version. Installing a newer twrp version fixed it.

Hi everyone, I'm in a beta compilation of the 6X, and I wanted to know if you can flash a stable one without problems. And if you can then put beta on stable?

Why is my screen time and screen on time different?

Redmi Note 7. OrangeFox recovery. Rom installed, data partition encrypted, size 0 appears! No solution, only data format, with data loss?

I also have a problem with my Mi9 lite.

TWRP was working perfect all the last builds but with this one the screen for entering the encryption key will not appear.

So all my data is encrypted and I don't have access to it.

I didn't update or change the TWRP.
It was working without problems all the time and showed the password Screen on start.

Sadly it's not working with this Rom.

Anybody have an idea why and what's wrong?

Thanks.

Mi8 SE, updated without problems.
Thanks to xiaomi.eu
At the moment I have only found a small bug.
If I activate Google Discovery, on the home screen, when unlocking with the fingerprint, the icons do not appear. If I use facial unlocking, it goes well.

You need an usb-otg cable + external storage(USB Stick). Download the newest twrp and save it on the Stick. Boot into twrp and Install the new twrp from Stick. That worked for me and after the twrp Update i got the "enter Pin window" and could install the MIUI Update.
