Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro TWRP 3.4.2b 2020.12.06 from LR.Team

Hi, I bought a Chinese phone with a EU rom 12.1.3 on it. It has been in use.
But I just can't seem to factory reset my phone. After a wipe in TWRP and a reboot, the phone keeps asking for my former password when MIUI starts fresh.

Also when i try do do a reset from within MIUI the phone reboots to TWRP.

Also my phone is not working right at all. Sometimes it doesnt start up at all. I have done a fresh install of the latest stable EU rom (12.1.3). I experience lots of bugs, like reboots when creating double apps. Which wont work after the reboot.
Also when I do a format data in TWRP, afterwards my phone just nomally boots in MIUI.
It's driving me mad. Nothing is logical. Sometimes it boots and sometimes it just refuses and hangs at the start screen.

PS. Can I safely go back from 12.1.3 to EU 12.1.1?

3. Yes, with xiaomi.eu rom you can go back.

2. Do you read "stable" thread? I remind such bugs.

1. Is your phone bound on former user miui-account? He/she must delete the phone from account.

No its not bound to a former account. Reading the stable thread I dont read things like I am experiencing. Like not booting corectly. It seems that when the phone is warmer it boots better, but it might be imagination.

Hi all,

i installed version 3.4.2b, and now my internal storage is encrypted. With version 3.4.1 it was not.
Now i am not able to install new rom.

Any suggestions how to decrypt the internal storage?

It is not TWRP which encrypts, it is the ROM. TWRP decrypts, once you enter your password/pattern, which makes it viewable.
However, with the latest weekly ROM, there are some important issues regarding the interaction of TWRP with some of the Mi 10 models. This was mentioned in the Change Log, and discussed in the ROM thread.

If previous TWRP version works better, reflash it. ;)

Disabling password/pin-code before booting into TWRP should fix your issue. Or you can also use pattern instead of password/pin-code, should work too. ;)

Try changing the main password on your phone to a pattern only.
Then use that pattern with TWRP. That has always worked with me.

You can install 20.12.10 via the workaround fastboot method and then the twrp works again as it worked before the issue

I can't tell you. But it works. I can boot into twrp in the normal way and decryption works too

Different boards. Initially it was cmi & lmi that were having difficulties with TWRP. Then the difficulties with umi started, and cmi & lmi have got better, but not umi :(

I'm flashing mi10 but it stays on the fastboot screen
I assume that it's the latest ROM that you were installing and that you installed it, and were trying to reboot to the system (phone).

You will need to download / have availalbe the TWRP 3.4.0 - from here (TWRP 3.4.0) in your computer folder with fastboot.exe file.
Connect your computer to your phone (which is in Fastboot mode), and from your computer, issue the command:
fastboot flash recovery [TWRP-3.4.0-umi.img]
Then
fastboot reboot

This should return you back to your phone.

With some of the Mi 10 range, problems started to develop with TWRP. With the Mi 10 (umi), this has not been sorted yet. However, there are some work-arounds, which is what you had. :)

This is the 3.4.2b-1206. For the Mi 10 (umi), it is not significantly different from the 3.4.2b-0623. But I believe that it is good news for the Mi 10 Pro.
