There is a problem on latest update 20.12.9 for Redmi note 8 and 7 with decryption in twrp , probably xiaomi changed some "keys" and decryption brakes ..
At this situation , ginkgo and lavender users can only go back to previous rom version by formatting data of course , it's the only way to had decryption back ..
And after that they have to wait for a new twrp because next rom will update to A11 and it's unknown how the twrp will perform ..
Or else users have to stay with latest 20.12.9 rom and update via OTG or external sd card since we have a new twrp for those devices ..

Since now all known custom recoveries tested on ginkgo and lavender faced the same issue with broken decryption , even after formatting data with latest 20.12.9 , when you enter again to any twrp the storage will be encrypted again ..
Is there ANY way that ginkgo or lavender can use the current ROM? Is there a workaround (like we have found for umi)? Or is the only currently known solution to go back to the previous week's ROM (with its associated complications)? If there is no solution (or workaround), then maybe the developers need to put a note in post #2 to this effect, and maybe even withdraw this week's ROM for them.

It's not like umi here ..
The only workaround now for those who flashed 20.12.9 is updating via OTG or external sd card until new twrp with working decryption released ..
If they are lucky and a new twrp solve the decryption issue without need a format data i don't know , but at most of those cases ( especially on lavender and ginkgo because faced same decryption issues before 5-6 months ) needs format data unfortunately..
Especially for lavender previous decryption issue comes with version 20.3.5 and caused because xiaomi updates keymaster ( km4.mbn ) , but after updating twrp the format data was mandatory ..

Can you decrypt with Orange Fox? I wasn't able to.
YES!
it"s a family surrounding phone and I wasn't able to install latest EU stable OTA because official recovery failed to decrypt.
Just download Ofox latest release and install the zip via OTG or External SDcard. You can also unzip the package and boot or flash recovery.img via fastboot.
Anyway best is to remove password pin in order to try before with official reco, but didn't work for my case.
Come back if any issue.

So this has happened before? Great job Xiaomi...
Thank you for the information.

Now I'm confused - this works for GINGKO? The Orange Fox OrangeFox-R11.0-Stable-ginkgo.zip doesn't decrypt - same as the yesterday released TWRP by mauronofrio @XDA
EDIT: Sorry, didn't see dextervs comment...

Hello im on currently 20.5.25 beta(android 10) eurom and i want to use the update of android 10 weekly should i flash this like dirty flash?

updates are suspended and until what date ?
We are at the end of the chain. There are clearly some important issues affecting several boards which are going to have to be looked at. This is apart from the interim upgrade to Miui 13. I do not know if Xiaomi have even given any idea of the time scale.
I do not know if there is any later information than this article.

On the Mi 9T
Battery life is horrendous
Lags a lot
Phone takes 3 seconds to respond after being unlocked
Have you tried a Factory reset (from within TWRP)?
Taken from FAQs on the official TWRP website:
"If you're installing a nightly update, then oftentimes you don't need to wipe anything at all. However, if you encounter strange behavior, then you may want to consider performing a factory reset."
If you do a Factory reset from within TWRP, you tend to keep all of your files.

Hello, so I got my mi 10 (5g) and I'm ~waiting for the bootloader to unlock. Meanwhile, I found out that my phone uses about 4gb ram out of 8gb, running stock a10 miui 12. It seems a bit too much. Is it any better on xiami eu rom (the latest beta)? (It ~uses more ram than my previous phone had.)

So I waited 168 hours to unlock my Poco F2 Pro and now the unlocking tool says wait another 168 hours. Has anyone else had this issue? I have been patient enough!

It seems like many people complain about similar issues. Did you sign out of your mi accoubnt or tried to unlock before the time it needed? Xiaomi seems to try to keep people with the bootloader locked... For me about 3-4 days has passed and I'm waiting for a week to pass to unlock it. ~Dunno, but it might happen the same to me too.... That would probably put back many plans I have for setting up the phone the way I want...

Nope I waited a week like it said. When I unlocked my Mi 9T I followed the guide and it unlocked instantly with no wait times as I had permission from previously owning a redmi note 3 pro.

Did you retry? It might be a good idea taking some pics as evidence and contact support (they probably wont help but at least they might learn the issue). ~Dunno if that's linked, but I ~can't do the sim activation on my phone since I teied it. After contafting phone provider and xiaomi support they ~told me that the xiaomi might have issues recently (even though on the web it seems like this is a problem long time unsolved).

Just tried it again and all that has changed is it now says 167 hours to go. Ughh. I'll leave it be atm. Just want Xiaomi.eu on my device again lol.

Your phone (and computer) tends to run more efficiently if RAM is used. It is more efficient if certain 'things' are held in memory, rather than having to search and load each time. What's the point of having 32Gb of RAM on a computer if you are only using 4Gb?

Mi9t.
Hi. First of all congratulationsb to delevelopers for the rom.
I'm in weekly dirty updates from android 9 (passed 10 and now in 11). Always wipe cache, system and dalvic before installation. Reboot system and when rom is working I go back to twrp and flash Magisk (I only play Adaway as root. It's a must for me).
Well, I'm noticing in this update that internet speed is extremly slow. I've being doing some comparatives with other smartphones and the conclusion is the problem is in mine (wifi and data are ok).
After disabling Adaway and different combinations nothing improoved. I flashed the rom again and miassed Magisk this time. Now everything works as a charm, net speed is super, etc.
Some questions if someone please noticed something similar
-Could Magisk β has any trouble with the ROM/android 11?
-Adaway is in a new update kind different. Could it corrupt anyfile from the rom afecting the net connection?
-Does anyone have had any issue with Magiskβ?
-Am I wrong thinking Magisβ is the problem?
Thanks for readding and if anyone can give me some light...
Maybe it' s time for a clean installation? Is that the reason for Magisk not working (dirty updates from android 9 to 10 to 11...)
