[GUIDE][venus|star|mars] How to install Xiaomi.eu ROM for Xiaomi MI11 / Pro / Ultra

Stupid question maybe. But I have a Mi 11 Pro, EU-version. Running on firmware RKBCNXM (Venus).

Why is that listed as "Mi 11" in the download-section on sourceforge.net?

And why is the firmware for the Mi 11 Ultra called "Mi11 Pro_Mi11Ultra"?

It's confusing.

It's simple.. You have Mi11, not MI11Pro..

Successed to flash 11U from 12.5.2CN to 12.5.2 EU and my step as below...
1. Login Miflash tool
2. Setting phone to Fastboot mode
3. Unlocked phone and reboot
4. Quick setting and makesure can login to phone
5. Setting phone to Fastboot moda again
6. Open CMD as administrator
7. Go to folder platform-tools-windows as keying command
fastboot devices > check phone already link with PC
fastboot getvar current-slot > check slot is a or b, and my device show the slot on b
fastboot set_active a > change the slot from b to a
8. Back to extract file folder and keying command
windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat
9. Auto reboot phone when finished and successed.

Huge thanx. It worked for me.
Just flashed my Mi11 Ultra without any problem

Fyi guys, the pre installed display protection on the ultra is just a foil made of plastics, no glass nor hard, out of a sudden, mine had bubbles today so i removed it, beware of damage, don't rely on it and buy a real one!

There was never a statement that the pre-installed protector is a glass one... everyone knows that its a normal foil. But I think its a good one. It feels good fingerprints are almost not present.

Yeah, just saying, on last year's mi 10 it was real glass.

All good

Fair enough man,

I actually think the provider put that on to be honest.

== How to install Magisk without TWRP (with "fastboot" Xiaomi.eu ROMs) ==

1) Extract the "boot.img" file in the zip file of your current ROM version (in the "images" folder)

2) Put this "boot.img" file in the "Download" folder of your phone

3) Download and install this apk on your phone to install the Magisk app => Magisk-v22.1.apk

4) Open Magisk app and tap on "Install" button (Magisk) => Tap on "Next" button for options => Tap on "Select a file for patching" method then "Go ->"

=> It will open the file manager app and you have to find and select the "boot.img" file (tap on the top-left menu then select "Download", you will find it here)

5) Start the install process

=> When done, you will find "magisk_patched_xxxxx.img" file in the 'Download' folder (where xxxxx = random value)

6) Transfert the "magisk_patched_xxxxx.img" file on your computer (on your "Desktop")

7) Reboot your phone in fastboot mode (hold ' Vol - ' and ' Power ' buttons simultaneously) and connect it to your computer

8) Open a "Command Prompt" window (cmd) on your computer: type "cd desktop" and then type "fastboot flash boot magisk_patched_xxxxx.img" (TIP: you can only type "fastboot flash boot magisk_patched" and use the TAB key to auto-complete the name, or manually replace xxxxx with correct value)

9) When flash is done, type "fastboot reboot"

10) Done! Magisk is installed!

P.S.: Do not forget to enable "MagiskHide" option in Magisk app settings (to pass all SafetyNet tests) AND I also recommend to use "Hide Magisk app" option (to rename the Magisk app).

:)
Can you lose data using this ?
Widevine status after rooting will remain L1?
And do you if this works on K40 pro too ?

It worked, thanks
i have another question, what will happen if i updated the ROM ? im planning to flash latest weekly build.
After installing a ROM update, you need to re-do the Magisk procedure to root your device (and you keep your data of course). :)

IMPORTANT: Switching branch (Stable <-> Weekly) without formatting data is NOT recommended at all. Always format data (="first_install" script) when switching. ;)

Is it worth downloading the weekly ROM for the mi11 ultra? I find 12.5.5 so buggy. Will gpay work?
Weekly ROMs are the best choice (IMHO). :)

GPay should work, yes. ;)

TWRP is working for Mi 11, a testing A11 recovery rom has been flashed using the current TWRP that is available for Mi 11 and it's booting to system. It is a good sign for the development of Mi 11.

What is the best way to remove TWRP? I have trouble with my banking app (root detected). Before I installed TWRP, the app worked with Magisk and without TWRP.

You don't need to remove TWRP...
Rename or delete the "TWRP" folder, in root of the phone's storage. ;)

when you have twrp install like poco F3
1. fastboot boot twrp.img
2. copy that same twrp image to the device
3. go to Advanced > Install Recovery Ramdisk
after 3. you have to install magisk new

Momentito... TWRP is a Recovery, which is flashed... In my opinion, i have to reflash a stock recovery? But in the EU ROM Folder is no recovery.img...
