Hi, 12.5.4. here. When prompted to update my firmware, everything proceeds as intended (downloads the fw OK, integrity check OK...) then we get to the final popup "are you sure to continue?... device will reboot to recovery and install chosen file...data will not be wiped". At this point, nothing happens when I click YES (does not accept), I can only click Cancel or outside the popup to exit the process. This frozen process seems to be consistently shown even after i) normal reboot ii) reboot into recovery (no option to install there). What shall I do? Help.

Download the file from the links on page one. Then copy it to your device, start twrp and install the new rom version

Hi this is also happening to me now.
Is there any fix? We cannot install TWRP on Mi 11 Ultra, @katerpanne so I flashed my phone using fastboot but when OTA is here I am stuck same with @brodyer.

I have a Mi11 Ultra as well and of course you can use TWRP

download this TWRP for your MI11Pro/Ultra mars/star to your PC

rename it to twrp.img and copy it to your "adb & fastboot folder" e.g. "c:\adb"

download your favorite rom-version weekly or stable and copy it to your device

reboot device into fastboot (power on and volume down)

open "cmd" and execute this command

# cd c:\adb
# fastboot boot twrp.img

twrp will start and you can install your rom-version

if you downloaded the OTA version search your rom-version into these directories
  • /sdcard
  • /data/media/
  • /data/media/0
Alternatively you can download it with your PC and then copy it as example to /sdcard/download to your device
Then you have to look with TWRP into the folder /sdcard/download for your rom-file :)

@katerpanne after executing fastboot boot twrp.img, Terminal just shows <waiting for any device> and phone is simply showing the Fastboot screen with no further activity whatsoever

How much do you ask? And why not for free?
I'm not associated with any EDL service. ;)

Price is 30 or 40 euros. It's not free because they have "special" Mi Accounts ("technician" accounts I guess) that allow to flash any fastboot ROM via EDL (so it's easy money for them...).

It's not an official help, it's totally underground. ^^
