Activation of VoLTE and VoWIFI in xiaomi.eu ROM

Hi and thanks for the tips. I don't have bought my Xiaomi phone yet (a Mi 11 Pro which seems compatible with this method according to the source mentionned in OP's first post : https://www.miscw.com/how-to-enable...s-non-root-android-11-or-10-solved-41243.html) but I'm wondering if it could be someway related to the carrier. On my current/future ex-phone (a Mate 10 Pro), the carrier has to do something on its side to allow me to use VoWiFi (VoLTE was not available). I changed my carrier recently and now, I have VoLTE but can't have VoWiFi according to them (no support).

So my question is does this method bypass any carrier "limitations" as some Xiaomi are restricted to Chinese market and as such are not supported by some European carriers ?

xiaomi.eu ROM is optimized for EU users.

For VoLTE and VoWiFi to work, the basic prerequisite is that your operator supports it and that you have these functions activated with your operator.

I'm from EU, my operator supports it for a certain number of smartphones (including from Xiaomi) but the Mi 11 Pro is not listed as supported or unsupported (because it's not intended for Global/European market) hence my question if this method bypass any carrier "limitations" concerning unsupported phones because from a technical pov, the Mi 11 Pro can handle it.

I already answered you. If your carrier supports these services and you have them activated with your carrier, it should work. It doesn't matter if they have devices in the supported list..

Sorry if I misunderstood you, I'm not a native speaker and thank you by the way to make your answer clearer for me. I guess I will try to force the thing and lie if my operator asks me what phone I have.

YES your Carrier can block your Xiaomi if it's not included in their Support Device List (Whitelist).
Didn't matter if it's 4G/5G and VoLTE/VoWiFi/VoNR compliance, also with correct SIM Card version and enabled for all of this services on Settings.
Is it clear enough now?

It is possible, but I am not aware of these practices in Europe.

As an example, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia operators (Vodafone, Orange, T-mobile, Telecom, O2) Mi 11 Pro is not among the supported models, but VoLTE and VoWiFi work.

It makes clear that the previous answer was not correct. It's not about my carrier supporting these services but about my carrier supporting these services for a non-whitelist phone. It may work but it may not work. I'll try to call their technical hotline. Thank you Birraque :)

It's not about which phone is "whitelisted", I'm not aware of this being a real thing. What I do know is that the modem image (which is pretty much the same in both Global ROMs and China ROMs) has to have a modem software configuration (a file in MBN format) with VoLTE config included for your operator, one that the OS will load upon SIM operator identification (by matching MCC/MNC in general). Those MBN configs are embedded and device-specific, so if they are missing for a specific operator, VoLTE for it won't be available normally.

I totally agree that Xiaomi devices running MIUI.eu are 100% compatible with global carrier services. In Brazil the Vivo (Telefonica Mobile) and Claro (Telecom Americas) carriers have whitelist blocking mainly Chinese brands.

Thanks everyone of you for your precious feedback and precisions and I'm sorry if I seem a bit too meticulous (especially towards you gogocar62, it's not personal, I just like to be as informed as possible). I'm sure it will help some other readers. It seems that it's mostly a non-issue. Really, thanks a lot, I appreciate the technical explanation too even if I've a lot to learn. I will probably update my first post to confirm that it works when it's done.

1. Enter the string * # * # 86583 # * # * in the field for dialing numbers, a message will appear after the last character, which must end with DISABLE. If ENABLE, we repeat the string again. This will allow VoLTE because this menu is hidden by default.

2. Enter the string * # * # 869434 # * # * as above, again the message with DISABLE must appear at the end. We have enabled VoWIFI.

3. Using the SIM card settings, we adjust the SIM card number in the international format, ie + 4xx .... I don't know if it's necessary, but some sources state it, so I listened and set it up. Activate VoLTE and VoWIFI

3. enter the code in the stock MIUI Dialer app: * # * # 663368378 # * # *
then "MBN config loading and activing tool", then "Advanced" button. You should see that "oem_sw.txt" is selected for the auto-detection list - set it to "mbn_eea.txt" and then "Validate" and "ok".

4. Restart the phone and both functions should be active. We test VoWIFI by selecting the mode on the plane and then turning on WiFi and trying to call someone. If we succeed, we have won.

If that didn't help, follow the instructions in the link:
Unfortunately the Modem config (Rueban v2.4) says ,,parts of operations are prohibited“. Any way to solve this?

MBN test mode does not open. I tried to install another version, but it gives an error that prevents installing system apps. I'm using android 12. Is there anything that can be done?

This whitelist thing is a reality with at&t and Verizon here in united states only devices they have in their list and have passed certification are allowed in the network.

I understand you really want to talk about US carriers limitations, but your answer does not make sense in this specific thread.

The "whitelist" has been used not only in the USA to block access to VoLTE, VoWiFi, VoNR, 5G SA for some chinese brands in South American countries as well. That's why the recurring comment on this thread, even MIUI.eu is compatible with these services, provisioning may not work.

From my POV, a carrier completely blocking the use of a phone is a different topic than enabling VoWifi/VoLTE.

I agree with you but completely blocking the phone is a past thing. Now some Carriers are only blocking new services such as those that use IMS Server and 5G NR through the first 8 digits of the IMEI to push customers to buy the cell phones directly from their stores with profit

The discussion is not about a whitelist of devices that "are allowed in the network", it's about VoLTE/VoWiFi capability specifically, which very much depends on the device having the operator-specific config MBN in modem image.

There is no Restrictions. Volte and Vo-wifi.
I already got Volte and Vo-wifi, the above method. but you need to call the network provider and enable. [or] you need to insert a sim network comfortable handset model list. once both work, change to your mobile. and try this OP's fist post method. change different configuration MBN [i tried 1-3 different MBN]. SW MBN OEM_SW.txt

I have a similar case wherein VoLTE works but VoWIFI doesnt. When I transfer my sim to another phone vowifi works. So does this configuration retains even if I plan to return to stock? or everything resetted?

Works fine but
I must write in white search box - PLAY (for Play Poland) and selected it
Then i click on ACT to enable and save it
Now volte and vowifi works fine, incomming call are recognised again
