When going from official english/chinese rom to multi lang it is not needed to perform a wipe? Is it possible to make a nandroid backup with Mi recovery? I always make a backup first on my Note 4G before flashing new version. I will receive Redmi 2 today.

Indeed there is only 4G LTE version of Redmi 2. It indeed seems MIUI made a mistake, I get it now, on official site there is TD-LTE and WCDMA should be FDD-LTE.

Yes or custom recovery and update from zip. I think it is a known bug, I had the same.

what do you mean with update? Updating you rom version? When you update your rom without wiping it will keep working.
