This extended ram feature is just swap which is unnecessary for devices w high capacity ram. The weeklys are becoming much more stable, I think we are close to miui 13 lol

Is this feature appearing in all of the updates or just in the ones for older devices?
I have mi 11 lite and mi 9t pro and on none of them I can find the ram feature

Anyone can confirm if memory extension feature is working? After I enable it I don't see any difference
Memeory swap files are really not needed today and are merely a gimmick. Most phones have 6, 8, 12 or even more GB of ram. This was only necessary back in the day, when phones only had one, two or three GB ram. With as much ram as phones to day have, you will not have any performance (speed or smoothness) difference, it will just take up space on your sd card.

It's actually same as the Windows and Linux using, when you run out of memory the App in the memory goes to SWAP file which is in the Virtual Memory,it's not acting as a actual RAM
It's not needed on most of today's phones that have between 6GB and 12GB ram and some even more! Just a gimmick that will eat up space on your sd card. Back in the day, these swap files were used by the rooting community because phones only had one, two or even 3GB ram. You will not notice any performance difference, because it will never be used. Today's phones have more than enough ram to handle anything thrown at it. For most smartphone owners, 4GB is plenty.

Yes, BUT! Most often on a PC, swop uses an HDD or SSD. In the first case, the number of write cycles on a magnetic medium is comparable to the life cycle of the disk itself; in the second case, a technology is used to strictly save write cycles to the same cell. I have not found the use of such technology in the phone memory. So be careful!
