Please note that you will get the update only if you're using the latest developer version (4.8.22), older developer version or stable version will not get the update.
Taken from that thread
en.miui.com/thread-38194-1-1.html

Does this mean I will not be able to flash it on my mi3w running latest stable version and need to flash 4.8.22 developer first?

not exactly... if you want to update your system via updater app, yes it does but if you use miflash tool it is not necessary... in all cases i'd choose a clean installation via miflash (fastboot mode) with "format all" function lest a headache :)

I have this ROM in Spanish in my MI3w, what is advisable? install manually it today (in some of the languages available, English, for example) or wait when comes in Spanish? will take long to be translated into Spanish. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice though your method does sound a little unappealing, considering I'd lose all my data. In the other hand, better safe than sorry I guess.

How do you flash with miflash if there is a .zip here ?

its only if you want install via OTA (we will not push OTA from v5 to v6 for now).. so you can install our v6 from any v5 version manually as zip from updater app...
