They are, but an time you flash anything you have your stuff backed up.

Dirty flash is ok, but means sometimes you can get stuck at boot. So you need to do a clan flash from twrp. Last 3 versions I am doing dirty flash and all good for now.

Except for the first time I always flash with updater>select package without doing anything else, all good on Mi4 without a single problem

On my Redmi Note 2 it usually takes about 20 minutes. First 5min in TWRP and after that 15 min during the boot (with the loading bar slowly filling).

Always thought it to be normal..
Pretty much same on Mi4: few minutes in twrp and 10-15 minutes afterwards until ready for use

It's been posted several times with the previous version as well, just replace the updater script file from within the rom file with one from a previous version that worked.

No need to play with the updater script, the TWRP for helium works fine.

Device: - Redmi Note 3 Pro
Rom: - Xiaomi.eu 6.8.4 | Beta
Kernel: - Radon V2.0

With the above, just got 6 hours of use with only 20% drop in battery.
I was streaming music over data (Bluetooth headset), using GPS for small bit of game play, downloading a movie and tv shows over wifi, and other game play over data connection.

Note also using the powersave option of "EX Kernel Manager", during this time. Performance mode while playing games.

No reboots doing the above which I had on earlier versions using ADM.

Will find out tonight, If I have still got the 15% battery drain overnight.

Hi, is it not possible to use MiFlash in EDL mode to put this onto the redmi Note 3 Pro (Kenzo)?
It says on the tutorial for MiFlash that it will work for any ROM so presumably this one too?

Will this reactivate the secure features that get turned off when I unlock bootloader?

Thanks very much, I'm excited to get root going on my device so I can try and rescue some deleted files :D

As it says in the first page, you need to unlock your phone, install TWRP and flash the ROM with TWRP.
MiFlash is for official ROM only.

You have it at xda site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/kernel-t3414884
Ex kernel app is i think paid one, you can try instead Kernel auditor, Kernel auditor Mod or something other prefered by kernel developer from provided link

Small info, use other custom kernel only when you are sure that everything working without issue, because reporting bugs after can give misleading information to developers of this roms.

Set autostart for desired apps or switch off Memory optimization in developer options to get better multitasking...
Already did since MIUI 7 I can see improvements but no where near my old HTC One m7 with stock rooted rom or CM 13.1. MIUI is still very aggressive in killing apps. I have a mi4c with 3gb memory and I dont need 600+ mb of free memory. Reloading chrome tabs and system launcher being killed gets really annoying.

You always flashed your phone without doing a full twrp backup before? You have really great confidence.. ;)

I see. Thanks for the info.
It's hard to trust my Mi4 for daily use when you have constant reboots. :(
Not a single reboot for months on my Mi4. (I dont use Gmail app nor Chrome) but the native mail and browser apps...

Thanks

Reboot, reboot, reboot ..
Unresolved problem for mi4! Xiaomi Hurry up ... before adding unnecessary features committed to correct serious problems.
