So the slight battery drain on my Mi Max 2 became noticeable and I have decided to roll back to 7.11.2 and that fixed the problem.

finally i unlocked bootloader on MI6 and flashed twrp from 1. st post but it wont work.. gave me some errors and letters i dont understand.. then i find official twrp on twrp.me , that works, i did backup of my global beta and start to flash eu rom, but stuck in bootloop.. tried several times, but no boot at all... 30 minutes of nothing.. just watching in android and 3 dots playng under... restored backup of global and works normally.. i dont know what else to try.. i had mi5s plus last year and flashed this eu roms 50x from first try, also had many samsungs and flashed thru twrps many times.. what to try next?

Flash lazy flasher to pass boot as you come from official rom. Got the same issue last we on my Mido.

Format Data via TWRP recovery is mandatory for first install xiaomi.eu ROM (usual wipes are not enough). So if you already installed xiaomi.eu ROM and you stuck at Mi logo, then > reboot to TWRP recovery with HW keys > choose Format Data* > Reboot to TWRP recovery again > Reboot to system
*Format Data will be wiped whole data partition including internal storage as well!

On my first install on Mi 5s I did not format data and everything works well. The problem could be the bootloader not unlocked properly.

TWRP read only mode does not matter for install updates. It is matter only in case if you want to make modification under system partition via TWRP recovery file manager or you want to make backup & restore via TWRP recovery.

If bootloader not unlocked then TWRP recovery can't be installed, and as he said he successfully installed TWRP recovery.
Stuck at Mi logo is typical issue for first installation xiaomi.eu builds on Mi6 if Format Data skipped in TWRP recovery. So, Format Data will solve this issue for sure...no doubt...
I say that because on my previous phone (vernee Thor) if I don't tick read only, the phone don't boot...

If you already flashed xiaomi.eu ROM then not necessary to flash ROM again as Format Data doesn't wipe the system partition.
