LED notification in Whatsapp only works if sound notification also enabled, and they only work with system sound or default notification sound.

I've always had WhatsApp in silence mode because i find the ringtones anoying. Isn't there any other work-around to solve It?

Well, since what we have now (maybe someday Xiaomi will fix this) is led notif depends on sound notif, you need to enable sound notif, then you can use 'blank mp3/ringtones' as your default sound notification, this way all notification will have silent sound.

and if you don't like the default silent sound notification and want to custom sound notification for Whatsapp, you need to 'systemised' the blank ringtone following the link in my earlier post, and select it in Whatsapp notification settings.

Until Xiaomi fix this, I think this is the only workaround for your specific situation.

battery is fine.
just make another test. fully charge your phone and use it as you usually use it.
when battery reach 20% make 3 screenshot (battery use - apps, battery use - hardware, battery use - hardware - screen).

it is worse than i thought.
it could be related to software, hardware or even both.
use some wakelock detector to find what apps causing that your phone is always awake.

2G works fine on My Mi Max 2 with 7.12.21.

It's better to disable auto update on stable release because every time you check for update shows for new update but same version

Bug report 7.12.21 markw

There are problems playing h264 and h265 videos using VLC or other softwares
Sometimes the hardware decoder doesn't work with h264 and it uses +30%.
Usually happens after after 1 hour watching or more suddenly cpu usage gets insane

H265 don't even use hardware decoder anymore it just use 40/60% cpu making the device heat like a beast.

Everything was fine with first miui 9 builds guess the problem came with 9.1 or even later.

It's not vlc's fault since other apps have the same issue

Hello, my wife´s Mi5s havent got an update since Miui 8.2 by Xiaomi.eu (6.12.22 Beta). Its running on Android Version 6.0.1. Can i proceed and normally flash this update using TWRP?

Will it update itself to Android 7?

Im not really sure if i should proceed.
