OK Folks - Mi MIX / lithium is an confirmed Android 7.0 Nougat

So table of first post should be updated.
Migration from 6.0.1/MM to 7.0 N went pretty fast and without a hazzle.

TWRP compatibility:

UPDATE 1
New TWRP is needed - touchscreen is broken again.
I'll try to compile an working modified TWRP an post it here within the next hours.

UPDATE 2
TWRP could made compatible with simply exchanging kernel from boot.img of weekly release into TWRP.
Upload of modified TWRP is in progress.

[MI5] For all those who have the widgets problem, I resolved it by following these instructions without losing data. But it is at your own risk ! I did not try on another phone.
I did it with ROM 7.5.4 and with 7.5.11 (wipe Dalvik / ART Cache and Cache) the widgets are still there !



Instructions :
Wiping, with TWRP:
- Dalvik / ART Cache
- Cache
- Data

Do not wipe: "System" and "Internal Storage"

For those who want to restore their phone without data loss, keeping the layout of your icons:

- Backup with MIUI Backup (System and Apps). For WhatsApp, do a Drive backup.
- Wipe : Dalvik - ART Cache / Cache / Data
- Reboot

- Restore your apps ONLY
- Reboot the phone, so your apps needing root rights will ask them at startup.
- Then restore your settings, accounts, sms, the layout of your icons etc (if you have a google account that manages your contacts, do not restore them,
- Reboot again

All widgets are there !

I have no idea, I just know it is removed from China and Global builds as well. Lets hope they just removed it accidentally and will be re-added at next release...

Then download the update package in TWRP ... update and then whipe dalvik cache and reboot ??? What TWRP did you use?

If you like you can go that way but I would recommend to download the rom to the local phone storage and use the update app provided by XIAOMI.
Select update from storage, select the update file and do the update.

In that case the update file will be checked for errors before starting the update itself (via TWRP).
