I have tried to install stable for my redmi 3 (file:

) but i got a zip verification error upon flashing in TWRP

No. MIUI 9 will not upgrade your Android version.

No! The Firmware zips are not signed.
If you are Worried about the integrity of the zip file, you can download it to your PC and do the MD5 verification, then you can install it by sideload.

1) August 11th, 2017
MIUI 9 Developer ROM for Mi 6, Mi 5X, and Redmi Note 4X Qualcomm will be released to the public!

2) August 25th, 2017
MIUI 9 Developer ROM for Mi MIX, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi Max 2, Mi Max 32G, Mi Max 64G/128G, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, Mi Note Pro, and Redmi 4X will be released to the public!

3) From late September, 2017
MIUI 9 ROM for all the other Xiaomi / Redmi devices (except EOL) will be successively released to the public!

There's a bug regarding WhatsApp's notification. When I select a downloaded mp3 file (not one of the built-in sound files) as custom notification ringtone, it's still silent when a new message comes.

Take a look in thread 7.2.9 and the two following ones. In post #2 there is an installation guide for your device regarding change of Android base and unlocking bootloader.

Hi,

I noticed something. When using the wallpaper carrousel, in this miui version, the carrousel button on lockscreen for liking and changing the wallpaper is not there anymore. I switched from 7.5 v8 to this version and it was there before.

Even checked the settings but although the carrousel function is enabled there is no such button on lock screen.

Can someone help?
