I am thinking about taking the plunge and going from 8.8.30 to this.
I read earlier that if I back up the data partition with twrp
Then wipe and install this weeks rom, I can flash my old data partition and retain all my settings and stuff - is that correct?

Also does android auto display properly these days please?

Thanks guys!!

Hello guys, I know it's been explained in different comments to threads and sorry to bring this up again, but because of the amount of information, I got kinda confused and wouldn't like to do something wrong.
I've got mi mix 2s with 8.8.3 and would like to move to this rom, but not sure what are the exact steps to do so.
I'd be very grateful if someone could explain it to me once again or link an existing description of the steps that are actually working.

Thanks in advance guys and have a great weekend

Update from 8.9.20 on Mi 8 worked flawlessly, triggered it from launcher, no cache cleaned at all (not sure if this was done automatically during upgrade). Thank you for great work!

I am not sure what changed between 8.10.11 and 8.10.12 for MI 8. I did a dirty flash 8.10.12 and all the things that I need are working.

And, I am not sure why some say that the camera is not working in 8.10.12 but mine works and did a dirty flash only.

Hi, in my redmi 4 prime something similar happens to me. When I update I lose MiFit App and it does not allow me to install again. I have to perform a clean installation to install the App. How it is a lot of work, stop using the xiaomi App. Update Rom or use MiFit?, that's the question. I tried to delete residual files from the App to reinstall, but I did not get it. I'm sorry I can not help you.
Do you make allways - WIPE - Dalvick art cache and Cache in new instalation?

I am coming from official stable miui. I need boot twrp, wipe data, cache, install eu miui and reboot ? or format data is enough also ?
and one small q, for mi 8 which miui is more stable, global dev or eu ? thanks

Since you are coming from official stable MIUI, format data should be good. Once you format data, everything in the sdcard will be wiped out.

So, flash/boot TWRP + Format Data + flash MIUI EU 8.10.12 + Magisk v17.2 + Wipe Cache/Dalvik and reboot.

I was on EU stable 10.0.6.0 and now 8.10.12 and I really like it. Battery is excellent and system is fluid and no bugs so far.

Updated from 8.9.20 not entire max 3 is slow and switching or opening apps is stuttering.

Any solution?

Don't use Magisk.. It's Magisk issue..

I like to upgrade my Mix 2s to Android 9 from version 8 but the data partition needs to be wiped. I was wondering what kind of files/folders in the data folder that needs to be removed to be able to flash the new build without getting rid of my apps and app data.

It's a lot of job to reinstall the phone when you have everything exactly as you want

Anyone have some experience?

It - "Swipe back" gesture - does seem to not work only in Gboard, in other apps it mostly works.

Tried fiddling with some of the toggles in the settings for Gboard, no difference.

Tried clearing data for Gboard app, uninstalling updates and reinstalling - no difference.

Same problem in all apps I tried where Gboard pops up, so the bug seems connected to Gboard.
Same problem with Swift-key too....
