@graw2 thanks for the LTE switch. Can you investigate blinking launcher icons in full screen mode. Steps: use full screen mode, go to any app, swipe from bottom to go to home screen - done icon blinks. If it's miui problem we can start topic in miui forums and get it fixed.

Do you have Mix2S too? I have checked on my device and I can not reproduce blinking app icons. Can you make screen recorder how it looks like?

I have found that using an active stylus on my Mi Pad 4 plus ("clover") does not work well. The line it draws is chopped up into dots or small lines, and is hardly continuous. Sometimes, funnily, it works a bit better than other times, but never to my satisfaction. On my Mi Note 3 ("jason") with the same ROM, the stylus works perfectly well, drawing continuous lines even with the fastest movements.
So, the stylus is fine, and the problem of choppiness comes from the Mi Pad.

No, BUT you should always have a backup of all your important data anyway, so that it wouldn't matter if data were lost/wiped. If everything goes right, though, no data will be lost by doing an OTA update. Don't disregard this advice, there will come the time you lose data. It is not a matter of if or how, but a matter of when.

when you use the updater app, it will download the update, then reboot automatically into TWRP and install it. There is nothing else you have to do, but keep in mind that you will lose root, so you have to flash magisk again after updating. Also, if you do this, do at least two reboots after flashing magisk, otherwise the phone will feel sluggish and have massive lags. So, re-boot after installing the update, then re-boot into TWRP to flash magisk, wipe Dalvik/cache afterwards, then re-boot to the system. Log in, then restart the phone once more.
If you don't root your phone, just using the updater is enough.

Proximity sensor works unstable during phone calls on Mix2S out of the box...

for me the app blinkin happens when i set the animations in developer mode to 0.5, hope it helps

I keep that options on default values x1. I have never touched them... Seems it causes the difference
