Use Solid Explorer, one of the best file managers in Play store. The interface is awesome and you can update and replace files in /system, /vendor without any problems with Solid Explorer.

What about face unlock on "app lock"? Do you have that option?

On Redmi 4x (HM4x) the PIN login window is now much smaller and shows not 4 digits any more.
Also the number input field seems to be smaller.
Everything else seems to work fine.

Revolut works OK on poco f1, because of the root, need to magisk hide it to use the fingerprint auth, anything else work fine

Confirmed. Mi Max2. Same smaller input field with this version. And only 2 instead 4 dots (hidden Pin Numbers) are shown. But works as before.

I don't use app lock. Just the regular Face unlock option on the phone.

RedMi 4X : Magisk 18 (twrp 3.2.3-1) report successful installation but the app says it's not rooted
The screen starts to blink randomly with parts of the gui disappearing (icons, fonts, background, ...) until only title bar remains and the phone goes totally inoperative (even the physic buttons)

edit : just tried exactly the same things with previous stable ( xiaomi.eu_multi_HM4X_V10.1.1.0.NAMCNFI_v10-7.1 ) and everything is working perfectly fine

And since Mi 8 SE is China-exclusive and will never get a Global ROM, you will not be able to use OK Google on any Pie-based Mi 8 SE ROMs because the audio driver doesn't support it.
If OK Google is important to you, stay on Oreo.
