Adding new contacts with latest MIUI rom on HTC evo

Question regarding adding new contacts. With stock rom on HTC evo it asks whether to save them on the phone or save them to your Google account. I always save to Google. I was wondering if this is the default on MIUI rom or if it just saves them to phone. I just now added a new contact and it didn't ask. Anyone have any info? Thx.

A quick test of a new contact and within a few seconds it was synced with my Google contacts.
