Hi, my Mi-2 battery seems drain battery too much . . . Normal usage (browsing, chatting, gaming a bit) and it last for 7-8 hours from 100% to <15%. Is it normal? I remember when I use my Mi-One and it last 15-20 hours.

Maybe 2000 mAh is a bit weak with quad core processor?
Thanks :)

Many factors there actually. If the main battery usage (50%+) is on display that is normal. I get 6 hours with always on screen indoor (auto brightness at minimum). You could try lowering the brightness of the display. Post a screenshot of battery usage after some hours of use.

1use stock android 4.1 not miui v5

2manual brightness not auto brightened

3turn gps(or else) on until u use it

follow 123,battery life save 10-20% maybe

anyway when u use mi2 often ,1 hour 10% battery life is the normal situation

I see... I will post my screenshot later then.

I don't think I will replace MIUI with stock. I love it. And it seems my battery consumption is normal then . . .

Just my two cents. That's performance mode, most of the time on wifi and brightness at low auto (didn't use it much in direct sunlight tho).

i think normal mode is peferct for daliy use......at performance mode.u may charge mi2 3 times one day:rolleyes:

Even with performance mode the phone is going to stay at low clocks most of the time if you don't use games or browsing heavy sites.

False. Performance mode locks the clock at full 1512MHz frequencies.

Take a look at SetCPU or any CPU app and it will show you.

i do about 17H with the phone stock. brightness manual at 30%, 2g net (not 3g) many whatsapp massaging.
The screen, like all ather smartphones, drain battery more of all other thing.

Sure, just take a look at the screenshot from betterbatterystats... Just for your knowledge ;)
I am on performance mode by the way.

Nearly half of your battery gone in just over 5 hours, with a little under 2 hours screen time.

It's only fact that performance mode drains your battery faster than any other option. Logic should be able to determine that alone.

But hey, your device, you do whatever you want with it to please your needs. :)

Wow, that's good. My phone never lasted so long like that. I tried to using 2g only, but I guess the difference is not that far when I use 3g. Well, I'll use power bank then :/ . . .

Low reception and browsing/gaming for most of the time the screen was on. My point was that the clock doesn't lock at 1.5MHz (as you stated), the performance mode merely allows the phone to reach that clock on demand.

So basically betterbatterystats renders the performance mode useless in other words, as "normal" mode already allows the phones clock to accelerate to 1512MHz on demand.

Fairly sure that the phone underclocks to 384-918MHz when the screen is off, and ramped up to a constant 1512MHz when it is on. There shouldn't be any reason as to why any CPU app would provide a false reading of a locked frequency.

It is not locked... Normal mode has 1.2GHz as max clock and during sleep the clock will go under the power saving clock (that should be around 900MHz). Your statements are based upon a false assumption... The clock will be ondemand at any setting, the setting itself changes the max clock achievable...

But you're only depending on betterbatterystats to give you answers lol. I'm not giving false assumptions, I'm stating clearly displayed stats. Many CPU apps CLEARLY SHOW that normal mode achieves a clock speed of 1512MHz as soon as touch is initiated, then goes back to 384-918 clocks when there is no load/User input.

Why would normal mode not utilize the full phone anyway? Well it does.

Seriously, try it yourself. Again I will say a CPU APP WOULD NOT LIE.

A sequence of 3 screenshots in a timespan of 5-6 seconds. I used elixir. I tried it myself. Now I'm wondering if you did the same...

edit: reuploaded the second screenshot.

That is on performance, yes?

Here's a two pics on normal mode -

SetCPU: (states max and min clock right there, by default.)

No-Frills CPU Control:

And on performance mode - one on each.

Question: what ROM are you using?

is it normal to loose ~8% during 8 hours that the phone is in standby (wifi off, 3g off) ?

I can use Mi2 in 1 day and half before charging. Here's my tips:
1. Use Battery Saving Mode.
2. Turn off Data, use 3G Prefer, turn on when I need.
3. Turn of GPS when in door, on when outside. ( I'm usually in door, not outside too much). WiFi on all time.
I only called/recived some call(<20), SMS some text(<50), surf web for a bit (1 hour), Facebook on, listen music some time, play some 2D games (not 3D games, I tested play Dungeon Hunter 4 on it, I can play only 4~5 hours with Performance mode).
