Device Encryption

Hello,
can someone tell me how device encryption is working?

i see the "normal" device encryption requires "pre-boot" authentication, enter pattern/pin before phone even boots…

this is very annoying as when phone unintentionally reboots it waits for input…

i read that there is some feature since android 7 available that called file-based encryption (FBE) that should basically encrypt everything in the phone without the pre-boot bullshit…

i didn't find this in developers options as some sites to this topic states…

would fastboot wipe-and-use-fbe probably work? because FBE Option is not available in developers Options menu...

Looks like this does not work… at least not with Android work "encryption requirements" this is still requiring full encryption
