Difference Between Rom Hm2xtd (hm2014813) And Hm2xtdpro (wt86047) ?

Hi there,
i've got a Redmi 2 (2/16) and behind the battery it's stated HM2014813 TDD-LTE....
on the package it's TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA/GSM
Handy model : HM 2LTE-CMCC

I'm actually using MIU8 (HM2XTD) -> Android version 4.4.4 KTU84P

1. What is the difference between those 2 roms (aside from the android version 4.4/5.1) ?
2. Is it possible to install/use the HM2XTDPRO on my device ? (any special steps?)

Pro is the one with 2gb ram. If you have 2gb ram, either rom is fine. If you have 1gb ram, the 4.4 rom is better because it's smoother than 5.1 rom. No special steps needed. Just flash normally.

Actually i'm doing the following steps to update (using the weekly ones only) :

1. rename the download HM2XTD file to "update.zip" -> store it on my device
2. reboot the device into recovery mode (twrp is installed from previous updates this way)
3. performing the update with the "update.zip" file
4. wipe dalvic cache
5. reboot and wait for the update to be finished

Are there any special steps aside those ones listed when i'm using the HM2XTDPRO file ?
-> if i'm not mistaken this will mean an android update from 4.4 to 5.1 as well (aside the common miui8 weekly changes) -> will i loose any data/apps by doing so (never did any OS updates before - only miui7 / 8 updates)?

Just to give a feedback :

1. update (using HM2XTDPRO file with the steps i mentioned above) worked like a charm
2. all apps and settings are still there (OS is 5.1.1 now)
3. my personal impression : anything works way smoother and is faster
4. memory usage is the same like before (using HM2XTD file)
5. don't know about the battery drain so far

Hi there,
i've been updating my device like i've mentioned in post #3
(copied the HM2XTDPRO file to the device -> booted into recovery mode (twrp) -> installed the file ->
wiped dalvic cache -> reboot and wait for the update to be completed.)
As you can see nothing special at all (did the same steps before with the "HM2XTD" file every week).
All data/settings/photos/contacts/... are still there after the update -> but backup never hurts in case that something however went wrong (ya know murphys law ^^).

I tried it too but installing the update through twrp just bricked my phone (mi logo stuck on boot for about 20 minutes without the usual install progress bar). Do you installed HM2XTDPRO version of twrp before doing the update?

After the HM2XTDPRO update failed I reinstalled the HM2XTD twrp and updated using latest HM2XTD rom and everything went well (no personal data was lost)

5.1.1 rom need different twrp LP. Kk twrp will not works any more. Read up this thread: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=249552&extra=pag
Previously when I upgraded from kk to LP rom, my phone stuck @ mi logo even can't booted into twrp. So I used mi flash to flash a 5.1.1 rom and fellowed the attached thread to flash twrp LP for your phone model.
