Does Xiaomi MI2 ROM compatible with the new MI2S

Hello,

I'm thinking of buying the new Xiaomi MI2S, I have two questions about it:

1. Is it compatible with MI2 Rom devlepoed here?
I didn't find here any ROM dedicated for MI2S, I don't want to buy a new phone and be stuck with Chinese ROM...

2. I didn't understand the difference between these two ROMS:
a. WiUi v5 JB 3.4.19 that can be found here: http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/rom-wiui-3-4-19-multilanguage-experimental-jlb7.19628/
b. MIUI ROM 3.4.19 that can be found here: http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/3-4-19.20150/page-2#post-161836

Both look like custom ROMS, so what's the difference between them? Which one do you recommend?

Hey Animor

1. I don't know if the rom is compatible but you won't be stuck with Chinese (you can choose English in the Chinese rom). If it isn't compatible you will get an own Mi2S rom ( go to the rom list, there is a rom for the Mi2A already )

2.
a. WiUi v5 JB 3.4.19 is Wajk's custom rom ( new build every 2 weeks )
b. MIUI ROM 3.4.19 is the official weekly build rom (not really a custom rom on xiaomi phones ^^)

Wajk took the official rom and customized it (you can read the changes in his thread: http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/rom-wiui-3-4-19-multilanguage-experimental-jlb7.19628/).

i would recommend WiUi because wajk removed all the Chinese Apps i don't need and his rom is very smooth + great battery life
The only problem is i don't know if WiUi will work on your phone but you can ask wajk

In the past, MI ONE and MI ONE S ROMs were the same. I'd venture to say MI2 and MI2S are the same again. The only difference is MI2A from MI2.

But mi2s has s600 and mi2 s4pro, haw can it be? 1500 MHz and1700 MHz. Are you sure my mi2s wont be brick.

S600 is based on the same chipset APQ8064 of S4 Pro architecture, I think it's only a revision with few differences...

Can you give quaranty wont brick.
They aren't writing mi2 and mi2s on ROM names.
İ didn't see official explaination about mi2 roms also for mi2s.

As you can see, MI2 / MI2S are there. They are the same ROM.

Mi2 rom camera.apk values.xml:

I think the rom load the correct camera driver.
