Download apps on 3g

I really love having 3g - because if i realise i am missing an app i can just download it on the go...
Not really...
I can't figure out wether it is MIUI or Market itself that has decided that i shouldn't be able do download apps on 3g? Will there be some sort of workaround for this? No files are too big for my connection, i have 25 Gb per month at 7 mbits - i think its okay...

go to downloads app, there will be a download using wifi switch, unswitch it.
