  • Always state your device.
  • Sky Vega (Pantech) R3 IM-A850L
  • Android Version 4.1.2 JZO54K
  • MIUI-4.1.10
  • Logcat included here:-
  • http://pastebin.com/tFdSrvAx
  • I cannot do a screenshot as cannot do this in recovery (Philz touchwiz recovery).
  • Have tryed upgrading to the latest rom as posted by the porting team:-
  • miui_850_fyt_4.5.9_1
  • I constantly have 'installation aborted' error, even when doing a complete system wipe (not just wiping to install a new rom).
  • I have also tryed OTA upgrade as the system keeps telling me a new build is available:-
  • MIUI 4.1.17 (Weekly build).
I also get errors as detailed here when trying to install the new rom:-
850"

I know you are all busy but is anyone able to offer advice regarding this? I'd really like to update the MIUI rom if possible, thanks

update as of 29.05.2014
I have tryed to make it a little easier than wading through the 'log', so I have posted EXACTLY what happenedas it came up on my screen in recovery, after trying to install an MIUI rom

this is exactly what happens every time I try to update.
To me, it looks as though the rom is not configured for the EXACT IM-A850L device, but maybe instead a variant.
For example there are A850L..K...and S

thanks

I ended up solving it myself.
If anyone is reading this and gets this error
look for "updater-script" and edit it with the appropriate program, then remove the first two lines that have "get prop" in the line. Add updater script back to zip and then follow all steps to reflash rom in recovery.
WORKS fine
But as usual, do a backup before installing

just to update you guys :)
I found a workaround for this myself...
As I was pretty sure that I had the 'correct' MIUI rom for my device (and I already had a backup of my current rom), I chose to open the zip file and navigate to the "updater-script" file (I can give more information as to its location but i'm pretty sure most will be familiar with it).
I then chose to remove the first two command lines (get prop) using a hex editor. These mainly had 'get prop' in the script, which were causing the problem.
Once these were removed, I then re-zipped the rom, transferred, booted into recovery and installed.
It was a 'dirty' install if you like but it got the job done.
New rom is stable, just does not save custom themes, and, there's no 'wake phone' function in the alarm.
Apart from that all is good
