Google Now On Mi5s Eu Rom?

How can I invoke Google now on 6.12.1 eu rom ?

To clarify, I have set long press home button to launch Google now but nothing happens. I can launch google now with a shortcut on home screen though.

I've never had this working. Currently running 6.10.13 eu rom. How do you get the shortcut on homescreen?

NB: Just to clarify - I've never got "Now on Tap" working

I installed Google now launcher from Google play and at the very beginning it asks if it should put a shortcut on the desktop. Then you stop the launcher installation.

Ah ok... think we are talking about different things. I'm running the Google Now Launcher as standard but on my previous phone I could launch the contextual search of "Now on Tap" when I long pressed the home button. I think it just doesn't work on xiaomi so just waiting for Nougat update unless later version of ROM do this.

from the play store installs activity launcher https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher
once you install and open the app will appear at the top "Recent Activity" awards to the item and choose "All Tasks" then once loaded all located "Google App" awards over and hold you a menu and choose "Create connection" and you're done, you can find the icon on the home "Google App" : D
