[GUIDE] Install TWRP for Mi 11/Pro/Ultra

Hey guys. I've read some issues with the twrp and i want to share my problem which i already have seen here but i cant repair it at all.
I cant go into twrp back and forth like normally, it looks like i need to install it every time i want to go in. I tried your recomendations but nothing works for me.
I tried extended reboot menu but it didnt work, it just took me into like chinese recovery menu and there were like 3 options. I tried an updater from my homescreen and i dont know if its buggy or something its wrong but it just didnt work too.

You don't need to install everytime. You still have Chinese recovery. Are you using an EU ROM and when you pushed twrp from fastboot, do you then reboot straight to twrp and flash the ROM or update ROM? I also injected my twrp but that was before the EU ROMs had twrp installs instead of fastboot.

Plug your Mi 11 Ultra in fastboot, then connect to pc -> choose Mount -> USB - your free storage should be mounted/visible to your PC. Download the latest weekly to your PC -> transfer it to the phone. Choose then install zip and navigate to /data/media

Your zip file is there! Flash it, open a beer and enjoy!

This step is recommend for now for those whose twrp decrypted issue
Mine also cannot use password to decrypt so i use this method and now i'm all updated to the latest version

Thanks for suggesting

INSTRUCTIONS

1) Download TWRP for Mi 11 , and put it in your fastboot folder.
2) Put your phone into fastboot mode.
3) Do the following command : fastboot boot twrp-recovery-venus. It will automatically boot into TWRP.
4) Change language to English (press the 6th option).
5) Go to "Advanced" and select "Onekey inject TWRP".
6) Swipe to inject the TWRP. It might take a few minutes, so don't worry.

As describe in this thread, so no more the use of Chinese tool to install TWRP.

Jesus, thanks a lot man!

Some people are downloading the twrp image file, they dont put it into the fastboot path, dont rename it and then they try to execute this command

# fastboot boot twrp.img

With this image of recovery everything went smooth - phone booted into TWRP

So there are 2 questions
1) what are differences between recovery image in first post and this one?
2) why there are no link in the first post to this one recovery image?

Thank you

The difference: That one which I have mentioned is working for you (and me as well) the other one is not working
There is a link: Forums\Xiaomi Smartphones\Xiaomi Mi 11 / Pro / Ultra / Lite

As it is not a TWRP image according Android standard and for installation is needed some suspicious Chinese tool, we will not support TWRP installation for venus/star/mars yet.. We will wait for another TWRP release which will be more transparent..

So we continue with fastboot ROMs...

Hello friend, what's up? Did you manage to resolve the situation? Was it something serious or you just couldn't install the last twrp here on the forum?

Hello,

Am I the only one to have the issue of the slot when flashing TWRP?

"
PS C:\adb> fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
target reported max download size of 805306368 bytes
sending 'recovery' (196608 KB)...
OKAY [ 4.527s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: (recovery_a) No such partition)
finished. total time: 4.536s"

I try to send recovery_a or recovery_b, but no way, same problem... I got no Idea, I'm not really a specialist. Anybody have an idea? I've searched on the post, but nobody report this issue?

I'm on Mi 11 pro

You failed to read with care!

Hint, flashing is the wrong way..

Boot twrp then flash rom.

Regards

Sent from my Mi 11 Ultra.

Pffff... You're right, I flashed TWRP for so long time, and it was always the same way, that I didn't believe it'll be an other way to do it...
Thank you so much.

My Goodness... It's hard...
Ok, I find the good way to enter TWRP. But, once I am in TWRP, it's said on "how to" to format data. So i did it. Of course, once it's format, there is no rom file on sdcard.
So i try to flash it using the commande "abd push..." but it's prompt devices not found...
It seems normal, i've to be on fatboot mod to use adb command, not in recovery.
I'm on it since an hour... :-(

I don't understand, to be enable to use adb command, i need to turn on usb debugging in developper option, but i need to format data, that i factory reset the rom... So i'm blocked in a loop...

Perhaps restart twrp or you can try "twrp\advanced\ADB sideload" or use an USB-Stick

ADB SideLoad:
https://twrp.me/faq/ADBSideload.html

After format Data normaly you should see the device on your PC and the ADB command should work as well

I am interested what you did "Ok, I find the good way to enter TWRP. "

So, as you mention this, and as there is still no "official" TWRP for Mi11, why did you guys stop providing Fastboot-Versions for Mi11?
