1. Yes you have to patch it after every update.
2. Unpack the kernel and add my ramdisk and repack

I am currently exploring the possibilities of compiling a kernel from the source which is released last friday.
Compiling of the kernel with init.d already works!

The kernel source that is released by Xiaomi doesn't contain a Wi-Fi driver, that means Wi-Fi doesn't work (yet)
The issue is already reported, hopefully Xiaomi releases the Wi-Fi driver or someone get's a workaround.

I won't release a kernel without Wi-Fi, which is more then logical

A small status updating regarding the new kernel compiled from source.
The Wi-Fi driver is now fixed, so Wi-Fi works fine now.

There is one major issue left, that delays this new kernel.
Audio via headphones is broken, so headphones don't work yet.
I've reported the issue and hope it's fixed soon.

This is the current status of the new kernel.
All the (planned) tags must be added.

I didn't started with ramdisk modifications add all yet.
So that still must be done

Yes it's not compatible with MIUI 3.11.8

Current universal kernels don't work on MIUI 3.11.8 and higher!!
