Hi MIUIers,

I am starting a series to discuss what's new and bugs happening in Xiaomi.EU beta ROMs. It will be helpful if some of you can report and confirmed the issue here to official Xiaomi.EU website. So without further ado, let's get started!

WHAT'S NEW
1. Improved Dark Mode compatibility and options.
MIUI dark mode has been improved with the support of individual apps dark mode adjustment and improve status bar color scheme when dark mode is enabled.

2. Redesigned animation on Calendar app.
The animation is much more dynamic when swiping up and down through calendar views.

3. Lite mode feature was reintroduced.
Lite mode will increase the size of screen density, font, and icons for easier and accessible experience especially for elders.

4. Rebranded Power Monitoring tool in Developer Options.
Power monitoring tools include FPS monitor and also current battery monitoring tool.

NEW BUGS
1. Individual apps dark mode settings were reset on each reboot.

2. Forcing dark mode on system-wide level caused some UI elements to render improperly.
Quick ball appearance is one of the example that was affected by the newly introduce dark mode option. System app dark mode can't be excluded causing no solution to fix the appearance unless the dark mode was turned off.

BUGS FIXED
- None

REMAINING BUGS
1. Screen time does not have spaces between the words.

2. Data usage settings do not follow SIM Card choice.

3. Dynamic font-weight feature doesn't work in Second Space (Make the entire UI appears thin).

Seems like this is the final beta of MIUI 11. It's so fast! And we can see they are focusing more on dark mode improvement now which is one of the primary goals of upcoming MIUI 12. There are some bugs and inconsistencies here and there but I am sure they will fix it in the forthcoming MIUI 12 update. Another note though, dark mode on Funtouch OS and Color OS is great, they can force dark mode without noticeable UI glitches, not like MIUI current solution on dark mode (e.g. Facebook). I hope MIUI can implement that later on.

See you again in the next update! It has been a long journey :D

The icons in the status bar ate barely visible with this build.
Is there any way to revert this without turning of dark mode?

True! Dark mode on Colour OS 7 is really great, hoping MIUI 12 will bring more improvement later on.

Unfortunately I am not too sure if there is a solution for this beside reverting to the last build. XIaomi default dark mode now basically force every SYSTEM and THIRD-PARTY apps but only giving us option to exclude the THIRD-PARTY apps from forcing dark mode. I am sure it will be fixed on future builds.

Hello everyone!
I had the face unlock bug in 3.12 build (unable to scan my face), the bug was gone in 3.19, now it's back in this build. Do you have this bug, too? Does face unlock work for you all?

Also, I found another unresolved long-time bug: if you pin an app from recent apps (with the "pin" button), there's no way to get out of it and you have to reboot the device... Weird...

I don't have your bugs. Try clean flash, my friend.

For those who deleted miui_mod_icons that resulted to ugly icons when using ULTRA POWER SAVER MODE I was able to fix it by
1. backup all your files properly (please)
2. Boot to twrp, WIPE cache, data, dalvik.
3. Reinstall ROM, then reboot to RECOVERY not system.(Dont know if reinstalling ROM is necessary)
4. Still inside TWRP, go to WIPE-FORMAT DATA then type YES.
5. After the format, your icons are now 100% okay.
BUT, if you want better icons then:
Do not reboot to system, instead go to TWRP and mount your OTG with this folder(zip file NOT FLASHABLE)file with custom icons inside or any way you can put this files inside the ROM without rebooting.

6. Manually copy the icons to miui_mod_icons.
If only I know how to create FLASHABLE zip this will be faster.
I hope someday Xiaomi EU makes these icons better and all conform to the standards of rounded square icons.

You can also delete the icons once "that" icon was already shown in Ultra batter saver mode if you want those custom icons to be exclusive to the Ultra battery saver mode.

Meaning once an icon is shown in Ultra battery saver mode, that icon is now its permanent icon in ultra battery saver mode and only their home screen icon will return to their default icons if you delete them

AFAIK the icons in Ultra DVR mode aren't changeable anymore after the first boot/first opening of ultrasvrmode unless you do a factory reset.

If I'm not mistaken you can program these icons to behave the same way home screen icons like they will automatically get rounded corners.

From my understanding this is clean flash rite? and if there are new update do we need to delete the folder again to have the default icon?

Just for update, maybe can help someone: dirty-flashing the same OTA zip solved the face unlock bug.
