Mi Max Pro(helium) Quick Charge Capability

Hi

I know that mi Max is capable of quick charge 3.0 as per the PDF from Qualcomm,but i bought a qc3 certified charger for my mimax Helium 128gb,with a decent cable as well,but I was disappointed to find out it charges the same as the original Xiaomi charger,tried different number of chargers/cables combos but still no luck..

I'm running the latest Xiaomi.eu weekly,i just want to know if there is a setting or toggle that controls the QC3.0 or what exactly am I missing.

My only suggestion is to try with another cable. Even with QC3.0 this battery takes a while to charge, but it is clearly faster with QC3.0 chargers on my phone compared to the original charger.

qc3 allows for up to 12v but I can confirm that my max never goes over 8v and 1.7a.

The difference is then small to the original, but it is there. Charging time is 2-3h instead of 3-4h.

My Mi Max 128GB is charging for about 2:57 - 3:00 with the original charger (from about 12%) and with an Aukey QC 3.0 charger it is the same time... The only difference is that it charges faster in the beggining but slows down later... or maybe I'm imagining it. Tested with both MIUI original ROMs and xiaomi.eu ROMs

Update: after flashing the latest weekly I got it working like a charm
The charger is blitzwolf qc3 and a remax 2.4Amp cable.

Charges within 2 hrs while device is on

I charge my Mi Max 64gb using Samsung QC 2.0 is charging way faster than the charger came from the Mi Max box. I'm planning to buy Aukey charger

I'm a electronics engineer and I've custom made a volt + ammeter to test the quick charge because Miui does not show Quick Charge info when plug into a Qualcom Certified QC Charger like other phones.
I've confirm that Mi MAX come with QC3.0 but it charge faster with QC2.0.
If you want to test your QC charger is working or not, you need to wait until your phone is fully charge. Pull down the notification bar and there is a charging notification telling you how much time it took to fully charge.
Standard charger come with Mi Max took 2hrs 50min - 3hrs and QC2.0 charger took only 1hr 20mins.
In the photo show that I'm using Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 Charger. Second photo show that my Mi Max charge at 8.8V 1.44A from my custom made device.

I bought an avatar quick charger Qualcomm 2.0 certified and it charges much faster and now with the latest firmware it does show the quickcharge icon when pluged in , tested on mi max hydrogen

When QC besides the battery icon there is a "flash" in circle it means it's working.Hidrogen latest developer N,now about 2 hours full charged before about 3h 45m

Latest Android 7.0 weekly version before on older versions it did not work and show , but sometimes after a restart i have to plug in the charger two times into the phone to get the icon and start quick charging.

Is this the "Flash" Icon you are talking about? If it's this one then this is just how the charging indicator looks like... I get this icon even if I charge it from a PC's USB port...
If it is something else, please provide a screenshot.

Also for me the charging time (from about 15% - 20% ) is always about 2:15 - 2:35hours... It was like that even with the stock charger!

Yep... Tried the original, Aukey's cables, some others... every time the same thing...

From my observations, Mi max speed only supports QC2.0.

I have tried many of charger like are Aukey QC2.0, Aukey QC3.0 Tronsmart QC3.0, Blitzwolf QC3.0, Anker QC3.0 and Samsung Fast Adaptive charging (5.3V,2.0A). The cables also supports QC of various brands such as Aukey, Blitzwolf, Cabstone, BAESEUS, CRDC and Samsung original cable.
Results: remain the same.
0-100% = 2 hours 50 minutes - 3 hours
10-100% = 2 hours 35 minute - 45 minutes.
20-100% = 2 hours 15 minutes - 20 minutes.
The charging speed is set at 0% or 10% or 20% to 90%.
After 90%, the charging time is about the same as that between 40-45 minutes.

If anyone claims they can charge the 4850mAH battery capacity is only 1 hour 30 minutes - 2 hours, I hope they include the first images while charging at 0% / 10% and 20% and the second image, after reaching 100% to prove it.

Thas't right on my hidrogen just QC 2.0 works and takes circa 2 hours from 0-100 %

QC3.0 did not work, i use anker QC2.0 and works OK
