MI2 + Ubuntu 12.10

So anyone knows gow to get my MI2 to show up on my Ubuntu laptop? Photo mode works but not file. Never had any issues with this using other Android phones. Works out of the box on Windows 8 that was preinstalled

Read about setting MTP device to work with Ubuntu. There's great tutorial how to setup Nexus 7. Just search Google. With MI2 it's the same.

my problem is using mi2 with window xp. how to get my mi2 files to show up on my window xp laptop? Photo mode works but not files mode. i also never had any issues with this laptop using other Android phones. i did install and uninstall (when it did not work) and reinstall (as advised in the help file) the driver that came with mi2. but cannot access to the files mode. thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

Ok to bad it's such a hassle. It's strange that Windows 8 does it out of the box and not Ubuntu. I think I'll just stick to windows then. Ubuntu worked really crappy on my laptop anyway

new update about MTP in linux (eg. Ubuntu). It's quite easy and fast to make it work.
