Hi,

My MiNotePro had "xiaomi.eu MIUI 6..." on Android 5.1.1 and decided to try MIUI 9. I read [thread 42205] that I need to install latest MIUI on 5.1.1 before updating to Android 7.0.

I tried to install "xiaomi.eu_multi_8.2.1.0-5.1" through Updater app but failed, same also in MiRecovery. So I installed it through TWRP 2.8. (booted temporarily in fastboot) and it worked. After that unlocked bootloader with MiUnlock. System booted fine.

Then I tried to install "xiaomi.eu_multi_V9.1.2.0-7.0" with TWRP for 7.0, but "fastboot boot twrp.img" gave error: "dtb not found".

I booted TWRP and wiped data, rebooted and logged in Xiaomi account. Booted to fastboot and tried to install again TWRP for 7.0 and same error. Then booted TWRP 2.8 and installed V9.1.2.0 ROM from there, it finished, with some errors I think and after reboot got stuck in bootloop.

Booted to fastboot to unlock bootloader with MiUnlock, but unlock tool returned "Couldn't unlock. Current account cannot unlock this device".

Tried to temporarily install TWRP, but it says "unlock device to use this command". "fastboot oem device-info" returnes "device unlocked = false". It won't boot MiRecovery.

TL;DR - Bootloop after MIUI8.2 - MIUI 9.1 update, MiUnlock "Couldn't unlock. Current account cannot unlock this device". Fastboot works.

I guess MiFlash won't work, cause bootloader is locked?

Should I try to install through edl an older unlocked ROM?

Any help appreciated, thank you.

Edit: could it be that in TWRP I chose Install option for ROM installation instead ADB sideload?

MiFlash works with locked BL, it's original MIUI tool for there ROM's, which come with loccked BL. Use latest one: http:// xiaomiflashtool. com/
In thread 7.2.9 and the two following ones in the second post there is description how to install ROM with Android 7 on your device.
Also you can try Xiaomitool, many people use this to flash: http:// xiaomitool. com/ and http:// en.miui. com/thread-720781-1-1.html

Thanks a lot. Haven't heard anything from Xiaomi Tool, didn't come across with it when searching the forum. Seems like a simple and easy to use tool. Will definitely try it.
Btw I used Mixxalych's "Complete Beginners Guide" Q16, to revive my NotePro.
