New Mipad2 Wlan No Connection

Hi everybody,

over night i was not able to turn on WLAN. I had used 2 Years the original installed Rom (xiaomi.eu 6.x.x.x.).
I tried to fix it in fast boot mode with Toolbox. (WLAN option) - no effect.
I enabled developer mode,
turned on OEM Unlock and USB Debugging
I unlocked bootloader
I installed TWRP
enabled root
installed new xiaomi.eu ROM 6.9.1._v8-5.1
and multi_MIPAD2_V8.5.1.0.LACCNED
I also tried original ROM V8.5.1.0.LACCNED
and China Dev ROM 6.9.8

Depending on ROM i get error messages like

Can’t get valid device id
… no IMEI …

But no possibility to turn on WLAN (even no search for any)

I also tried to reinstall gapps. (makes no sense)
Installed ES Fileexplorer to search for /config/wifi/mac.txt - where i can see the correct MAC Address

Of course i also booted my router ;-)

Don’t now what to do next - any suggestions/ideas?

Have you tried to flash official fastboot rom and then back to xiaomi.eu rom?

First - thanks to your reply
now i flashed update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=latte&b=X&r=cn&n=
latest china developer rom.
After reboot - i can not see any WLAN and i get "no devic id (null)"
Then i tried to flash xiaomi.eu with updater app, but after reboot same rom as before.
I can try to get this xiaomi rom work, but i dont think it will get better?!

And you have no twrp backups from working rom?

i backuped my data, after missing WLAN and before flashing/wiping. But before i didn't touch the system.

Too bad, you could have tried a working known rom and if it doesn't work on your device, then something is wrong with it. Do you still have IMEI on your device?

yes clean_all, but not clean_all_and_lock.
After installation first message - can't find device id. Must be IMEI or valid MAC Address (which i found before in /config/wifi/mac.txt)

still no search for WLAN
then i tried DNX_flash_all_flash_Bios
still no search for WLAN (Turning WLAN on ... but nothing happens)
Then i tested bluetooth, it works. With bluetooth tethering i can browse over my mobil phone (but this is not realy a workaround)
Someone else any ideas?
How can i test WLAN - to see if this is a hardwareproblem? (I don't belive this, because of the device id message)

Have you tried the hardware test in about phone and tapping kernel version until you get to the hardware test and test wifi?

i tried, but i don't understand the results.
Of course there is no WLAN address. WLAN AP Scan finds nothing (same as "normal" turn on WLAN)
In "Additional tools" ("..." right on the top) WLAN test tool i can select antenna 1/1/1+2
The 4 Tx tests i can Run and Stop - just nothing happens.
Next 2 Rx gets "An error occured while running the program"
Last RX:AP i can press "Run" - nothing happens, even no "Stop" to see.
In MODEM test tools "change Modem Config" says "No modem config found"

ok, unbelivable but ...
Someone wrote installing with update.zip would help. So i tried to rename the xiaomi.eu ROM to update.zip and install it with the updater APP.
I got error "signature verification failed" and i had to reboot. Before this i did a wipe/reset. After next reboot my tablet recognized my WLAN
Now i will try to install new xiaomi.eu ROM ...

i got some error messages like "error starting Gallery, Android, ...) and same WLAN Problem.
AND there was no fastboot mode any more. I had to reflash it with loader.efi and DNX mode

After that i was not able to reinstall TWRP, so i tried the complete fastboot flash orgie ...
No WLAN after that.
I retried the trick with update.zip but unfortunately not the same success as before :-(

You are having rough time with your pad my friend. I'm sorry that I can't help you more.
