Still useless !!!
The only version that QC3 works fine is the 7.10.26 !!!!
I tested with Apmere Meter, and with my new Tutuo Charger(Qualcomm Certified) when the phone supports QC3 and start charging with various voltage (Start from 12v/1A) the LED turn to Purple from Blue !! Blue means normal smart charging and Purple Means QC3 !!!
It's been a while since the first MIUI 9 rolled out !!!!

QC 3.0 is about dynamic negotiation, it maxes out at 18W (doesn't mean it will always keep up to this value, can even not touching it at all and it is the same maximum value as QC 2.0), but can be any combination of voltage and current in the specified range. It also considers temperature when defining those values.

That's Right! 18W charging, and 6V with 2A means 12W !!!!

18W MAXIMUM, which you MIGHT get during the first 20% only. 12W when your battery is 50% charged is fine and even not good when it is 90% charged. At 100% the current will be 0A or at most 0.01A, which means power nearing 0W. Unless you plot the power from 0% to 100% thoroughly without break, your claim doesn't prove anything.

I guess no one can help if you insist on your understanding.
For me 6.2V * 2.2A - 6.4V * 2.4A = 13.64W - 15.36W @ 26% doesn't deserve a complaint as long as it charges in around 90 - 105 minutes from 0:

No 18W charging while battery is almost empty!
Check your cables - the "standard" one delivered with the Mi5 is not great, I have had issues with them having a slightly higher resistance than desirable.
This will kill high-powered charging schemes.

QC3.0 does not work,at least not at 3A....I came from JDC Oreo and u can feel QC 3.0 at work, charges phone about in 75min from zero to 100%. (50min from 0-90,let that sink in)

Here it takes almost 2 hours. It's just bad considering we're at brink of 2018 and that 2015. flagships take 2 hours to charge with primitive QC methods.

It seems I'll have to go back or experiment with custom kernels for MIUI9.

QC 3.0 is designed to work at a MAXIMUM of 3.0 amps, so a combination of high quality cables, connectors and a low charge on the phone, as well as a cool battery is needed to see max current.
I have seen 2.85 amps charge rate on my Mi5, and 2.92 amps for my Mi Mix 2, so the QC3 definitely works withe xiaomi.eu ROM's.

Using whatever the weekly ROM is currently released.

I've seen max 2.1A over first 50%,BLitzwolf QC3.0 charger + 3A cable. As i said,JDC and their kernel(charging is kernel related) simply slam dunk any MIUI build of late with charging times.

And I know it's not the fault of devs,it's MIUI kernel thing, present in global variants too.

Dude i got it, you are a scientist, but mine charges with 6V/1.8A , So, 10.8W is very LOW from the Expected power !!!!
Before it was 9V/1.5A and 13.5W was satisfying !!!
