Resolved MIUI blocks you from downloading files >20MB

In the latest MIUI 3.8.23 (and perhaps also the previous version, I have not checked) there is a big problem with the data usage restriction. Basically, I am unable to download large files from Google Play unless I am on Wifi. I have unlimited 4G data, and Wifi is seldom relevant for me. The same limitation is in the browser (Chrome or MIUI), but there you at least have the possibility to go in to the Downloads app and press "resume" as the file is queued waiting for Wifi.

I know this is a "classic" problem that have annoyed thousands of MIUI users that do not want any data restriction or prompts that ask you about it, but things seems to have changed in this version.

Previously, this could be toggled in the MIUI "Downloads" app. However, in the latest version, if you go in to Settings in the Downloads app, there is only one option: Data usage prompt->File size limit. The largest option here is 20MB (see screenshot). This means that whenever I try to download something from Google Play that is >20MB, I cannot do it unless I am on Wifi. There is no option that is "unlimited".

In addition to this comes the "classic" annoyuance that Google Play always says that this is a big file, and you have to tick off "Download using Wi-fi only" before you can continue. Even if you do that, however, the 20MB limit I am talking about here will still stop you.

Anyone has any clues for how to solve this?

we will add more file size limits... max 1GB should be fine... :)

By the way, why is it restricted? I mean, isn't there any possibility adding option "unlimited", ingbrzy?

Valid point, having such a setting can be a blessing. But why not add an "unlimited" option to the list for experienced users like us?

Would be cool if the network monitor also could be configured for unlimited users as well.

I have an unlimited plan :)

We could change that... If we set a large number in that array then it will behave like for unlimited data.

I've actually tried that, but it monkeys up the pie chart because it tries to show your data usage as part of the total available.

What's best would be a toggle or something for unlimited users, so the graph looks like this, just showing the usage total.

I have the same problem too...
It's a pity that I cannot upgrade my app in holiday because I don't have any wi-fi network even if I have an unused high data plan...

Hi.
I'm experiencing the same thing, but with a major difference. I can't download anything at all without Wi-Fi running.
From webbrowser, Google Play, nothing. Tried just now downloading an update on Google Play which was 1.1 MB in size, the
same 'ol "Downloading a large app" screen appeared, I unchecked the "Download with Wi-Fi only" box and then "Proceed", all
that happens is "Waiting for Wi-Fi...".

Worth mentioning is that normal surfing (web, Facebook etc.) works just fine.

I updated MIUI a few days ago to 3.8.23 and here's where this bug started. Today I noticed 3.8.29 so I just flashed it but the bug remains.
I'm on Samsung S3 I9300 with Swedish Telenor carrier.

Install miuiandroid build... We have OTA for Xiaomi Mi2 English ROM and multi also...
