Hi all,

I've updated my Mi8 to version 12.0.4.0 yesterday through TWRP. Update went fine, however when my phone booted, it didn't ask for my pincode. I saw that it also didn't connect to my network operator. Now I can't make phone calls, send text messages or use my mobile data... When I want to check the network settings, this screen just dissapears (if it even opens), please see attached video.

I've wiped cache and Dalvik and installed the update again, but still no results :(.

I hope somebody can help me bacause this is very frustrating. I also have to use my phone a lot for work.

Can you do some basic testing with the sim card, it seems that it is not detected (try to boot the phone without it, then add the card, or put it in another slot, try another sim card, try the sim card in another phone, etc...).

Maybe it will help to isolate the issue.

Have already tried that but without success...

As far as I know, I had V12.0.2.0 running. I haven't done an update in a year. If you know a solution, please tell me what to do.

Well, get a log using logcat, maybe someone can see what is wrong, other than that I don't know.

V12.0.2.0 was released on 2020-11-06... "in a year"?
Anyway, make a log while reproducing "When I want to check the network settings, this screen just dissapears".

I've tried to create a log, but don't know if I did it right...

Logfile
As I suspected...
Code:
android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: Can't downgrade database from version 2752520 to 2686984
You've made a downgrade at some point, whether you knew it or not. You need to factory reset / format data in TWRP.

Ok that's a shame... Anyway, thanks a lot for helping me out!
